I spent years as a mechanic on both types.
I would look for an AC G3. The early DC G3's were just a modified G2b. While initially much more reliable the AC aircraft have gone through their growing pains (long ago) .
I would look for a serial number in the mid 450's and beyond. I am going back to the deep spaces of my deleted grey matter files but I believe that 407 or their abouts was the first true AC G3. They had played with a couple prior to that but the production line was not fully intergrated. I remember seeing that aircraft in the hanger quite a bit for maint (converters).
I would not want the first 10 or 20 of anything so 430 and beyond would be a good place to start.
