But won't that create the same problem w/ a smaller plane as well? I figure that time in type is important in any corporate jet regardless of size. The ratio between type on a light to mid size vs. the daily rate is almost half that of the large jets. I anticipate that any type I get w/o time in the plane will result in a slow first and possibly second year. But I will only need half the number of trips to make equivelant profit. The daily rate would then after 2 years offset the lower percentage initial investment and when factoring in the cost of eventually getting a GEX type say 5 to 10 years plus a midsize type, it makes sense to stick with the GEX even though it may yield less trips initially.

The way I see it, there is going to be risk involved with this venture no matter what a/c I choose. I am doing as much research as possible and like AA717 said, it isn't impossible. Difficult, yes.

I think that some people on this message board just enjoy stirring up $hit. They are not providing anyone reading this thread with any useful info. It is too bad that those who are trying to help me out and those pilots that have read or will read this thread have to sift through mindless chatter and bs. These people are the real a$$holes.

I mean seriously! Some jacka$$ actually posted a reply to quote another reply to type in LOL! What are you retarded or something?

Please stop wasting everyones time.

Cody--The useful info IS there. If you believe no other person on this board, believe Falcon Capt.

G200 and I can be a little flippant at times but FC knows of what he speaks (not that G200 doesn't, he's just a little short on sensitivity sometimes--if you're f'ed up, he'll tell you exactly that).

He!!, if you want to go to the Oracle, PM GVflyer. If you don't believe him, you are $h!t outta luck. TC

I'm curious, how do you plan to market yourself?

I encourage you to go get your GEX type and give it a go. All of these guys that want to discourage you are just afraid you are wasting your money. I think it is a great idea. Most corporate operations are always looking for fresh ideas from newly typed pilots, and I am sure all of your CL65 experience is what they are looking for.

When you think of the thousands and thousands you will make as an International Contract pilot, the type rating is really cheap, so go for it!

Keep us informed on how it turns out!

I detect a slight bit of sarcasm there that you did not pick up on! I don't think "Thanks" was the answer we were looking for?

Sarcasm or not, he does make a valid point. From the few guys at the airports that I've run into and kicked this idea around with, that is something that they bring up. Whether or not "thanks" was the response "you" were looking for is inconsequential. FlyFlyFly did open up a different perspective on the topic and that is pretty much my whole point of starting this thread; to gain the perspective of those with experience in the field.
