just quit 5 yrs at a 121 airline to go to 135/91 company flying BE-400 to build some PIC. I've got 5000total with about 4100turbine SIC.The rest is all 172/ aztec time.

My question is how much more valuable is 121 PIC vs. 135 PIC? I know almost every class has some 135 guys in them. I've flown with 4 guys at SWA now who would definitely give me a rec. when the time comes (prob. 2+ yrs) is that enough? I'm having a late 20's crisis in that I've been stuck at $50K/yr for some time now and will need to start making backup plans in case the majors (namely SWA) never call.

For those who have interviewed there or anywhere else ie:JB, CAL.... is there anything else that can be done besides having your resumes ,1 or more than 1, walked in. I currently have 1 rec. at CAL also.

Thanks,

I had all Part 135 PIC time and no 121 experience and small but quality military experience no of which was PIC..I do work for a 121 carrier but have not flown yet....I have been here over a year...long story, has to do with that whole middle east stuff. I just got the call from SWA. Get the PIC time flying something. A CRJ is no different than a Lear/Challenger/GV, yes the ops are different but that is nothing. Get the box checked, get some good stories from it...Part 135 should give you some good ones you won't see at a 121 carrier. You will be diversified with different experiences than your friends...doesn't make you any better, just different. Keep pressing along and things work out for the strangest reasons and everything happens for a reason. Trust me I am living it.

Always have a back-up plan. Work on that and good luck.
