That analogy is so far off the mark that I can't even begin to rebut it. I wouldn't know where to start.

Xtrajet shopped this video, that means the directors or owners of the company. If a pilot set up the camera and shopped the video around, media outlets would not imply that Xtrajet, the company, was shopping it. If they did and were wrong, company directors/owners would be screaming foul at the top of their lungs. That hasn't happened.

Whoever shopped the video did it as an authorized representative of the company and the company should take the fall. Someone from Xtrajet said himself (paraphrased), what businessman wouldn't try to sell this if he had it?

I can name one...me. Anyone else with scruples would be included on that list also.

I think part of their problem will be that an employee of their company knowingly set up a hidden camera, which most likely broke some privacy act somewhere.

And as a result the company will probably be help liable for that individuals actions in some fashion.

PS Timebuilder,

Do you happen to work for Xtrajet? You seem to have a strong opinion regarding the company? (No flaming intended)

The theory is if this video shows MJ acting "normal" that it may have actually been setup by MJ's team. This enables MJ to look like a regular guy and not the weirdo that he is. It also makes it look like he is being unfairly picked on so he can play the sympathy vote

that's a good theory, and that's why I think good lawyers are on par with the best politicians of our time

Someone at extrajet is most likely responsible for putting the camera on the plane.one of the pilots or the flight attendant(if there was one) had to know, or all three did. Think about it.
If the head person at extrajet has nothing to do with it , they should have came out with an immediate release condeming these actions, and firing the parites trying to make a buck off it.
No matter what we may think of MJ, It is totaly unacceptable what whent on that flight. God knows my company will never even talk to them for any extra flights that we may need to farm out.
Extra is going to be hurting irregardless who did it. Lets not look to deeply here. While waiting for paxs Most crews know when someone is on thier plane and whats going on. Who hit the record button, you need to get a camera started at the right time so it does not run out of power or tape

No, it does not.

According to what many of you are saying, a couple of people, or even one person who taped the cabin and shopped the tape, can take on the corporate personality and responsibility of Extrajet. While a judge could indeed say that Extrajet could have or should have known about this activity as a company, the same could be said for "allowing pilots to drink before duty". In both cases there is activity by individuals or persons unknown that could be illegal activity (which, in the case of Extrajet, might not have been illegal unless there is a contract that specifies privacy) and the corporate entity is being blamed for the misdeeds of the individuals. When individuals perform misdeeds, it it those individuals who should be sanctioned, not their employer.

As I said earlier, if the person who made and shopped the tape is INDEED the owner of the company, then he may have to sell off his assets to pay a judgement, which WOULD put the company out of business.

Has "The Boss of extrajet" come out and condemed these actions.I have not heard that yet. Do they have there hand in it to?

WINNER!!! Vladimir Lenin

#1 oxymoron - "best politicians" nudging out "good lawyers" by a RCH ;)

The reason I think it might have been by law enforcement was that somewhere it was said that people cleaning the plane after the flight found the tapes in the baggage hold, and went subsequently to the press. If you're the pilot or the fa and want to make a quick buck I think the tape would be the first thing you would grab after getting on the ground, not leave it there for others to find.
just my opinion

Who knows?

Just spoke to my buddy, an ex ExtraJet pilot and he told me that they actually put the cameras in the aircraft. I can't believe it myself -that is like putting a .45 to your head and pulling the trigger!
