Precisely my point. I'm saying the time, resources, money and military power could have directed against alQueda and other terrorist organizations instead of wasting time on Saddam, who in the end turned out to be no imminent threat. Did GW and Co. act appropriately given the available intel? Maybe. Even Clinton was convinced Saddam had WMDs and so did most other countries' intel sources (Germany, France, Italy, Israel, etc.).

I'm no pacifist. I'm saying we went after the wrong target. The whole thing turned out to be a giant headfake. Did we make the correct decision at the time we decided to invade Iraq? At that time, maybe so. We'll see. But it's time to admit that in hindsight it was a mistake. Nothing wrong with that -- everyone makes mistakes, even the CIA and the Prez. The Scuds - missiles and launchers - were dismantled after Gulf War I. Of course, the Inspector Clouseau-like UN inspectors could never verify that every last missile was destroyed. However, the key is what David Kay said in his recent testimony: the evidence is that Iraq never restarted any of its WMD programs after Desert Storm. Ego-driven maniacal Saddam just wanted the West to think he did so that he could act like he was still a playah.

No, the statement was "no link between Saddam and Al Qaeda".

Abu Nidal was an old-style and basically retired Palestinian terrorist. He was an adherent of radical leftist political views (i.e. socialism, communism or some other sort of leftish, basically anti-religious fascism). That's why Saddam gave him shelter---they had similar political views. Abu Nidal represents old-fashioned 1960s/1970s state-sponsored terrorism, of the type the Bush Administration understands.

By comparison, Al Qaeda, as we all know, is highly religious and regarded Saddam, Abu Nidal, etc as borderline apostates---i.e. enemies to be hated only slightly less than the US.

So, to review, Abu Nidal was not connected with, and in fact can be regarded as an enemy of, Al Qaeda.

These distinctions are important, because we stand a much better chance of defeating the enemy if we understand it.

Al Qaeda is not tied to, and does not rely upon, any particular state. In fact, one thing about the new style terrorism (which the old-fashioned cold warriors in the Bush Administration still don't seem to understand) is that if anything, Al Qaeda hijacks states, rather than being supported by them. That's almost certainly what will happen now in Iraq if we leave.

One of the few good things about an Iraq controlled by Saddam is that he kept Al Qaeda out. One of the big screw ups of the Bush Administration is that they've let Iraq devolve into such chaos that Al Qaeda has now taken root there---Iraq is now a breeding ground for Islamist terror.

1- Anywhere in the world but here only airline employees can have access to simulator training (now the question why somebody that is not even a pilot need to get simulator training?) for a good money anyone can here in US even after 9/11.

2- Why the TSA guys that never did that job before 9/11 don't get any specialized training in place like frankfurt that check people for more than 25 years and is considered so safe that any flight to israel that is not El-Al needs to stop there. (And avoid all that hassle that they cause and don't even know what they are looking for)

3-Why USA still the only country in the world where people can buy guns on Wallmart and think this is freedom. (no country in the world allows people have guns. just cops and military of course). Here any drunk person who think somebody talk to his girlfriend can go ahead and kill the guy with an Wallmart's gun.

4-And why the president invaded somebodie's country against all people who said they didn't have what he was suposedely looking for?
