Jenny,

You have a 75/76 crew base in JFK? Yea, they should have called in a new crew when they knew the weather was coming. Your saying they did the 'right' thing by sticking with the original plan but FORCING the Super Bowl Champs somewhere they didn't want to go? Really?

Most likely it was the 4th floor dweebs in Atlanta who don't normally fly or
like to do the high visibility types of flights ie special insider deals, military charters etc....

Why use a NYC crew who would have been in position? Why make sense now easier to blame rest rules and defend a stupid decision.

Uhhhh, lemme guess? FNWA? Anyway, the weather was poor to say the least the day after the Super Bowl. There may have been more spare planes in ATL, and ferrying a plane from JFK to EWR with a de-ice nightmare in JFK too might have yielded the same result---it took 2 hours to de-ice in EWR, why not the same at JFK before the ferry to EWR? It was probably faster to do it from ATL where the WX wasn't as bad.

And the reason this all happened was because of FAR 117. The pilots left early (6am) to get the plane up there early and ready, and you know teams who win the Super Bowl may not be ready to go on schedule, even though the plane was there 3 hours prior, ready to go.

Talk about "Monday morning Quarterbacking...." Except, most of you are on losing teams!
