Ratification of Tentative Agreement​

Today the council reached a decision to ratify our Tentative Agreement. 86% of eligible voting members voted with a resulting 51% approval.

Hey we had a process the membership voted twice. We move on. There will be quite a few upset people, such is life.
I certainly do not think it is doom and gloom. You never get what you want, you get what you negotiate. We negotiated, the membership voted, we move forward.

3% is a joke. Management is laughing all the way to the bank as they cash their bonus checks, remember that when you are trying to put food on your table.

Mangement doesn't move airplanes, pilots do. Management needs a kick in the groin in this country. The new revolution is coming.

The continuing dumbing down of America. Pilots are supposed to be well educated? WTFWYGT????

I did mention in a previous post the need for a change in the MEC and neg. committee. Maybe we'll see them up in the head shed in some managerial positions soon!

I was just in HR and they said look for a class at the start of 07.

for new f/o's it will start at 45 a year, 64 second and then every year about a 2 dollar (3%) an hour increase @65 hrs a month.
Current second year f/o's continue on the pay freeze (3rd year pay is 3 cents less than current 2nd year) before they see a $1500.- increase over the 4th year.
FE's are also taking a beating and captain pay is nothing to write home about either.
This ain't the pay you should get for driving heavy iron around the world on 16 hr (sometimes longer) duty days going into crappy airports in S America, Afrika and the far east on the back side of the clock

Sucks, naturally if I hear any dope who voted in favor of this RTA whine about their pay.. they can get stuffed, I'll not be shouting the round for that particular person. It is over, but hell.. 51% I'd say that is a clear indication that we didn't get s>>>. How about reviving a few of the outstanding issues, month to month, carry in out. ohh sorry.. that is sorted in the RTA, so nice of them to give that up in the RTA. less than 11 off we get OT, even if on a scheduled day off. Ahh that kills the carry in and out grievance, oops forgot that was a gain? for us? ohh well, time to kick it and press on. Too bad though, Aug 31 2009 yeah baby hahahahahaha

There is an MD11 FO I think his handle is xxxxxx or something to that effect. Well if you read his posts he was vehemently opposed to the contract. The first vote, he voted no, this time, I found out tonight he voted for it. He resigned the other day.
Stuff happens. There were a few who were not comfortable with there no vote. They needed roughly 27 guys to change their mind. And that's what happened.

If it had failed by one vote would you be asking for a recount? I for one feel that we have to have faith in the process.
I don't know if any of you saw it. The MEC posted a question from an 11 Captain. The first phrase that he wrote was, "I do not not care about the pay package". When I read that, I knew we were in trouble.

The thing Fog is, most of the pilots here in Gemini are from the military, they get two salaries, one from the military (Pension) and the second one from Gemini, saying that they care a rat @$$ the other people and that's the way it is.

The thing is had it failed by 1%, the MEC would go back and negociate for the same BS as we got now. What did we get in this TA that we didn't have before? As a matter of fact we negociated for less...

I agree with your sentiment as far as the ammended CBA. I am not privy to the inside dealings of our MEC, however, I believe ALPA national has control over our balloting as it is electronically tabulated. All this falls under the RLA and for some one or organization to manipulate the vote whether it be the Union or the Company would be breaking Federal Law.
