Small Plane Makes Belly Landing in Conn.
WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. (AP) -- A small, two-engine plane made an emergency belly landing on a foam-covered runway Monday morning at Bradley International Airport.
The plane did not land on the airport's main runway, and the airport was never closed, said Chris Cooper, a spokesman for the state Department of Transportation.
The pilot, who was the only person aboard the Beechcraft Baron, was uninjured, Cooper said.
The pilot had reported a problem with the plane's landing gear, Cooper said.
Airport crews sprayed foam on the runway while the plane circled to burn off excess fuel. The aircraft made a wheels-up, belly landing at about 9:45 a.m.
Cooper said the plane was "some type of a bank courier." There was no immediate information on the plane's destination or origin.
The Baron, built by Raytheon, can carry up to six people and has a range of about 1,800 miles.
