It all comes down to LEADERSHIP! A president who leads and has integrity will never be liked by liberals. It all has to do with our whatever feels good must be okay society. Recession is two consecutave quaters of a declining GDP. This happened in quarters 2, 3, and 4 of Clintons last term.

Negative growth (decline) didn't happen until Q1 2001. Everybody on the right is saying the recession began then, but like you said a recession is two consecutive quarters of a declining GDP. A more accurate statement would be that Bush inherited a declining economy, even though we don't know at what point during Q1 2001 the GDP actually went negative. To say that we were in a recession when he took office is simply not true.
Its a lie right up there with, "They stole China off Air Force One and trashed the White House", "They had the secret code word for Air Force One so we had to go to a bunker in Nebraska," , "The USS Lincoln was too far off shore to land a helicopter," and last but not least, "We know he has reconstituted his nuclear weapons program."
