Because of where the prez is staying in Ft Lauderdale, FXE is going to be totally closed from around 1440 Monday until 1040 Tuesday. I can't imagine how much money is going to be lost.

I' sure this can be easily resolved, why don't you make your recommendations for Presidential security to the Secret Service.

If you're going to be a good pilot, you're going to have to get good at "imagining money". Try harder...you'll do fine, you just have keep at it.

Being that I've worked many an Air Force One movement, I understand alot of the security BS that goes on, but it seems that totally closing an airport is a little bit much. How about allowing IFR flights, or something along those lines? Not only do the FBO's suffer, but the charter companies, and the large Pt 91 flight department that has many daily corporate shuttle flights? It stinks.

We go through this all the time at KCNW in Waco. During the summer Bush sits on his ranch for 8 weeks and that basically stops all flying for many of the students. And then there are the quick visits he makes every few weeks . And if Bush plans on landing during TSTC's aviation classes (which are held on the airport), the secret service IDs, wands, and searches every student before they can get into the classroom TSA-style.

It is very cool though that we frequently have the opportunity to stand just a few yards away from AF1 and watch the highly orchestrated (albeit probably exepensive) operation.

Closing down general aviation flying businesses within a 30nm ring of his head is ridiculous. I don't see why GA has to suffer everywhere the guy goes when GA has never posed a security threat.

You should have been in Newark when Clinton used to fly in. Total ClusterF**K. One evening I swear every Pilot, FA, Mechanic, Ground Worker, Gate Agent, and Passenger became a Republican.

Because GA has less political clout than the airlines, so therefore GA is more targeted for BS security restrictions.

This just proves that GA pilots are terrorists. Can't you guys see that?

Oh, and redheads smell like cheese.

Generally 121 pilots avoid restricted areas. While GA aircraft have a magnetic attraction to them.

If you think that YOU are inconvenienced, just imagine how people in other countries feel when the Giant Bush Bird swoops in on THEM.
