I heard the Comair guys have passed a resolution allowing furloughed Delta pilots to work at Comair without giving up seniority rights. Anybody else heard this?

I believe I did read that the CMR pilot group requested their MEC to tell management that they are requesting that be done. Good plan.

Seems to me if we were ALL three one the same page about things we might be able to work together with DAL and keep everyones jobs.

It is true that our MEC resolved to support hiring Delta pilots without loss of seniority in August. However, it really is up to HR and not up to the pilot group and/or the MEC as to implementing that change to the current policy.

This comes a little too late, don't cha think?..

The only good thing is that "when" (and the time will come) DAL hires again whenever that may be, those sitting on interview board will not forget what had taken place. I applaud ASA for doing the right thing from day 1 and all the other regionals taking the furloughed guys without the one sided and insane stipulations.

I am pretty sure DAL will be getting the last laugh when all is said and done.

Right on Brother! A little support would have gone a long way. Now the CMR mec might be trying to lick its wounds! Too little too late!

I am 100% confident you guys will never forget what has taken place.

The best of luck to you all in the upcoming months,

I have said it all along (as you all know) that the "change in policy" theme could have been changed with one phone call from Fred Greed. But, that never happened. The support from the "overall" Comair pilot group was UNDERWHELMING to say the least, especially after the fact that we all (all ALPA memebers) helped contribute to their strike fund and their sister airline, ASA, was helping out with our furloughed pilots and job placements. There are a lot of people on the DL seniority list that are NOT fond of that Comair policy.

Bye Bye--General Lee

I concur

The good news is, if you read this message board, you won't read any posts of comair guys wanting to come to Delta.

So it's a win win situation.

I'm sure this has been beat to death, but just how many of your brothers and sisters went to ASA, and of those, how many are still there?

I have heard the same from my Delta friends - they have a long-term memory... The ASA guys will benefit big time when hiring eventually restarts (maybe a few years from now after all of the furloughees have returned).

Not trying to answer for the General, but you are missing the point. A little support was all that was necessary. They not only didn't support our furloughees, but they downright spat on them while they were down. I know several furloughees that will never forget that kind of support.

737,

I didn't miss the point at all.. I understand and agree with you.

I was asking because I wanted to know the answer.

chperplt,

I don't really know. Maybe 20-30? I think a lot of the furloughed guys/gals didn't know how long they would be furloughed (250 of them for only 6-7 months?)--and some chose to wait it out. It probably was a shock when they first got furloughed, and then try to get motivated again. I was not furloughed, so I don't really know how they were feeling, but some got right back into the game with ASA. I think there were some in the original 500-600 that thought it might be awhile until they got back into a DL cockpit, so they applied. It was very nice of ASA to offer them a job without seniority loss.

Sorry, but, I gotta say it. Screw all you Delta pricks. I was at Comair and I don't remember ever being asked to vote on bringing Delta guys on. The policy was in place when I got there. If it was up to me, I would've said, "Bring 'em over, plenty of room for everyone". Believe it or not, most of the other pilots agreed. Instead, I had to put up with evil stares and rude comments from you immature Delta jerks (except when you were on the jumpseat--funny how your attitudes changed). Well, I left Comair for a corporate gig. Now I intend to give you losers the finger every time I see one of you.

I was at Comair and I don't remember being asked about the Delta furloughees working there. I also don't remember being asked to vote on it. If that were the case, I would've said to bring 'em over, plenty of room for everyone. But, since that was a MANAGEMENT decision, I didn't get a chance to voice my opinion. Instead, I got to deal with the evil eye from every Delta prick I ran into. I split and left for a corporate gig. Now, I plan on giving the finger to everyone of you di#$heads I pass. F#$k all you a-holes!
Wow. Maybe comair was right. It looks like having Delta and comair pilots in the same cockpit WOULD be a safety hazzard. Thanks for enforcing that notion.

NYR aka "Delta prick".;)

Would you mind if I used your post on another forum? I am trying to make a point to a few people and your post would help me out (allthough I liked the first one better). I won't do it unless you say it's ok.

Probable reality of the situation

When Delta hires again,

There will be something set up for ASA pilots who wish to come to Delta. It should reflect their vocal willingness to help out our 1310 furloughed pilots.

There will be no policy against hiring comair pilots who wish to come to Delta. They will be treated like all other pilots. A lot will depend on the interviewers, some may be former furloughed pilots, others will be former comair pilots. It won't hurt to be a comair pilot, it just won't help.

Right back at ya Gordo!

I was at Comair and I don't remember ever being asked to vote on bringing Delta guys on.
I see that Comair's hiring practice have little to be desired to hire scum like you!

The policy was in place when I got there. If it was up to me, I would've said, "Bring 'em over, plenty of room for everyone". Believe it or not, most of the other pilots agreed.
Well then they should have made their voice known to their MEC!

Instead, I had to put up with evil stares and rude comments from you immature Delta jerks (except when you were on the jumpseat--funny how your attitudes changed). Well, I left Comair for a corporate gig.
Translation:
Busted checkride and got fired on recurrent. Couldn't get hired when the hiring boom was going on and is now pissed at the entire industry!

Now I intend to give you losers the finger every time I see one of you.
I'm sorry! I didn't know that was you working at the Mc Donalds drive through. Next time I'll say "supersize that order, PLEASE!"

Its people like you that give the business a bad name!
And by the way. GOOD RIDDANCE!
