FSI and SimuFlite Manuals

All right folks, I just had my basement finished and it's time to get rid of "STUFF". Way too much crapola sitting on shelves in my soon-to-be home theatre.

What is the best way to dispose of these manuals in a way to:

1. maximize someones need

2. minimize my trips to the post office

3. make a buck or two

Here is what I have...briefly, as I haven't made time to categorize it all.

Falcon 10:

3 simuflite recurrents. two current, one is old
3 FSI initials
4 FSI recurrents
3 FSI performance

Lear 30 series:

31/35 initials one each I believe.

35a w/ FC530 QRH/checklist
35a w/ FC200 QRH/checklist
36a checklist
31a pilot training manual
31a QRH/checklist

Cessna Citation:

Multiple copies of recurrents.. 500/550
500 initial at least one, maybe two
550 initial... a couple
Multiple copies of checklists for both models

King Air:

C90 initial a recurrents
F90 stuff I think
B-200 checklist...can't rememembe the BB serial #'s it covers
Raisebeck AFM perf. supplement


I think that about covers it.

In any event, it's a ton of stuff. All in all there are probably 30 binders or so, plus checklists, etc...

I was thinking ebay for the whole lot, as that would prly be easier, but not sure if it's browsed much for these types of items.

Give me some ideas, and soon.

Put them up for sale on E-Bay. You'll make a killing with some of that stuff.

eBay. I sold some Lear Manual from FSI for a great price. Put in a detailed description, pictures (people are more willing to bid if they see a picture!), and I usually go with no minimum bid...

Heads Up!!

Just a heads up on Ebay and FS manuals.

I was high bidder today on two Citation FS manuals and recieved this email from Ebay tonight after they closed this auction early. I thought is was kinda strange.

CESSNA CITATION II FLIGHTSAFETY MANUAL:

What do you guys make of it?

Basicly it is FSI and Simuflite trying to make people buy the books from them for $1000 plus. It is a book that has been purchased from them and is no longer their property. That would be like a book publisher saying a used book store couldn't sell copies of their books. Or Ford telling a used car dealer they couldn't sell used Fords.

I'm pretty sure this is a program to protect publishers from having their "stuff" copied and resold. I ran across a guy selling ebooks that way. This should have nothing to do with reselling property that you rightfully own.

OK, so what FSI email address was included in your notice?

Nada. I posted the email verbatim (minus my name).

I did however, send Ebay an email asking for contact info because this is pretty riduclous. This is equivalent to going on Amazon and buying used books. So Stupid!!!

Selling the manuals is legal--but some putz was selling CDs with the King Air manual in pdf format--and FSI freaked. Guess he was too greedy to sell just one.

You can protest to Ebay but it is probably more trouble than it is worth. Contact the seller directly let them lose their final value fee. That's what they get for poor customer service!
