Could this mean that they are looking to start their own regional feeder service like how American has Eagle?

Would be nice for them to maybe buy Great Lakes or start their own feeder so they can run service to all the Colorado towns and towns in other border states? I know they are happy with Horizon and in with them for another 8-10 years so I doubt they would start anything with E-jets or anything like that but starting up something with Q400s or using Lake's B1900s might be a good bet?

I think I may be hoping for this to happen rather than it actually being possible but I would love to work for them again.

Anyone else heard anything about this at all?

This is why scope needs to be a big talking point in contract negotiations. Why can't an airline operate ALL of it's planes, from the the RJ's to the 777's?? Sure, you would have to fly the barbie jets for crap wages for a few years but at least you would be on the seniority list and have the potential to move up the ranks over the next 30 or so years of your career. Would this really cost the airlines so much more, if the pay was around where regional pay is now for the rj's? Then no more whipsawing like CAL is currently doing, and every other airline has done the past 4 years.

Tax advantage, accelerate depreciation, charge yourself more for a wet lease than the bank, etc. Pretty standard practice to save coin every quarter.
