Can someone tell me if when a FO upgrades to Captain does he/she start at their companies Captain year 1 scale, or is it like most others where you retain your senority when you upgrade. If I recall in Frontiers old contract when you upgraded you went to Year 1 on the Captain scale. Could someone please let me know which is it ?

Just a guess

but I think that you go to year 1 captain pay.

I am interviewing Mar 9, and my friends have all said that upgrade runs about 3.5 to 4 years currently, and that when you upgraded you would be making $100K, which would be first year captain.

Hopefully somebody who knows a definitive answer can tell you more.

It is based on the number of years with the company, not the number of years in seat.

If you upgrade after your third anniversary fourth year pay is what you get for your position as FO or Capt.

Hope this helps.

Great news

That makes the upgrade even more worthwhile.

BTW, why do they use F9 instead of FA?

Oh, those screwy airline codes. Who is it that decides on those, anyway . . . IATA, DOT? I'm with ExpressJet, aka RU. Frontier's F9. America West is HP. Southwest is WN. Who knows?

Old Frontier was FL I think. I have no idea where F9 came from.
