From: Jeff Pottter. It is with a heavy heart that I share with you the news that I will be stepping down as President and CEO of Frontier Holdings, Inc. effective September 6th after the shareholders meeting. I say “heavy heart” because this was not an easy decision...

What up...maybe b/c FRNT stock is at an all time high @ $5.03???

He was opposed to Republic's purchase of F9, so Wexford Capital asked him to leave, or they would remove him. That's the word around the schoolhouse.

Just kiddin'............

Prelude to a merger?????

Potter has no staying power. Saw this one coming 8 years ago when he quit the first time. Now it's time to take his millions and get out before the storm.

He's no Sam Addoms.

Gup

Sam Addoms resigned too... Any speculation what's going on at F9? Or is it chance these things are happening?

Noooo, nothing going on here . . . move along folks, nothing to see here.:erm:

Alaska will purchase a mojority stock and control the company!! Then, they'll staple all the F9 folks to the bottom of their senority lists!! Just to piss people off!!

Hick-up, Ahh, I'm having too much fun now!!!

he's simply got a better job and thus is cutting and running.

Does anyone know where he really intends to go? United would make sense because of the total void in leadership there. Is that the case?

Who cares!

I don't give a rats a$$ where he is going. He's leaving F9, so get out then. Big deal. The guy is worth millions, maybe he's going to pick rice in Asia or butcher pigs in Mississippi.

This is about what is going on with F9 and the little people who are trying to make ends meet and pay the mortgage... Its about the people who have been working this industry for 15+ years and still only making $60k... Like pilots. We don't have the luxury of changing jobs and making a few hundred grand right off the bat. We'll be lucky to make $30K if we lose our jobs. Its not about where the hell Potter is going - Who cares!!, its about the direction of F9.

AW.

He is definitely going outside of aviation. The announcement is next week and it is not anything close to an airline. I wish him luck, he is getting out at the right time.

AA or AT? AT right...

AirTran. The different fleet types could be a problem, but I bet Boeing would love to replace 319's with 737's. The route structure is very complimentary. Add bases like BWI, MKE, ATL, MCI, and possibly MCO to DEN and you've got great access to all of North America and the Caribbean.

Who knows...speculation is all just fun and games anyway.

Leaving with a "heavy heart?" Oh, please.

It's his pockets that are going to be heavy.

These people have no shame.

Come guys, this F9 post almost made it to the 3rd page of this fourm... No one cares! If this was regarding WN or J/Blue there would be like a million posts...

Have a killer weekend fellas!

FYI: You can get a DUI riding on your bicycle! Happened to a bud of mine, so be careful out there...

I'm thinking:

1. The board finally got sick of us losing money & is taking steps to make necessary changes, or
2. This is getting ducks in a row for a planned merger.
What do you guys think? Other possibilities? I can't imagine this would be getting ducks in a row for a hostile takeover, as those seem to come as a surprise to the target company's management.

Porch -
True. I . . . errr, I mean a friend of mine almost got one!

How 'bout AS?

Just think: Bill Ayer is in negotiations with both of his pilot groups. He could us F9 mainline to whipsaw AS pilots and Lynx to whipsaw QX pilots. Plus, he'd have Republic under contract to whipsaw QX/AS.

Air Group's big marketing chief (Pat Z.) just went to F9. Maybe that was to figure out how to market a much larger Air Group over a larger network. Plus Air Group and F9 got to know each other pretty well on the Jet Express deal.

Probably all BS, but who knows.

Very interesting, Reverse. Strange things are afoot at the Air Group.

Seems like the Air Group takes care of themselves with promotions between the two groups (QX and AS). So it was a little strange to see a higher-up that's been around for over 20 years suddenly jump ship.
