Howdy -
I had an interview set for 9-13-04, but it was postponed until "sometime after the first of the year." Has anyone heard any news?

Just out of curiosity, how long was it between when you filed your application and when they called you for the interview? Did you receive and "help" from within to get the interview? I really want to work for Frontier! Any thoughts?

This does'nt answer your question, but.....
I saw the training schedule today for the newhires who were put on hold.
One class in November, nothing in December, one class in January and every month thereafter.
The footnote about subject to change always applys.
Also heard a 'rumor' of 250 for next year. Either way I'm confident we'll get you in for that interview.

Crashpad -
Thanx a lot for the info.

It was exactly four months from the time I hit the "submit" button on the e-app to my phone call. I did have a bus captain help me out.

I thought I heard . . .

that there was a new hire class starting on Oct. 4th. My info might be corrupted, just overheard in the crew lounge. Crashpad's info is probably correct, since he was looking at an actual schedule.

Heard a rumor that a recent new-hire class was cancelled last minute. Not sure of the veracity of the story but what I heard is that people showed up and were sent home. Anyone at F9 able to confirm or deny?

Hadn't heard that - I have two buddies waiting for class, and they were both originally assigned a class date, however they were notified (one guy with not a lot of notice - somewhere around one week) before the class began. I think we would have heard about a class actually starting and then people being sent home - that's not the way FRNT does business. Hang in there, those waiting for interviews and GS's - it's a great place to work.

I had a class date Sept. 8th. which was cnx. From what I understand, I am in the top 8 of the pool (I think) Which leads me to believe that there was no Oct. 4th class. I called HR recently and they told me that the next class could be as soon as Nov. to possibly April. That is all I know. Bye and good luck!

Everybody is in that class

The guy I flew with today flew with someone (I know, I know) who had a buddy who was supposed to be in the Sep. 8 class. He heard that there will most likely be one class in November, followed by a another in December.

Guess it depends on many things, with fuel being the major factor.

Hope that helps.

I was scheduled for an 8 Sep class. I called the HR dept. the beginning of Oct. and spoke to Gary Hamrick. He stated that he had'nt heard anything new but would find out. Got an e-mail the next day. He spoke to Capt Winders who said no classes until after the 1st of the year. And the wait continues!

Imho

I wish I had better news, but after talking with a highly placed source in the training department it sounds like no new hire classes in the near future.

The efficiency gained through our new hourly pay, the cut in block hours due to high fuel cost and low RASM, and I suspect the delay in arrival of 807 which was damaged by Airbus prior to delivery have us overstaffed. Until we absorb those pilots through growth I wouldn't expect any new hires.

(47 planes x (5 crews/plane) = 470 total pilots needed. Just a guess, but if you figure an additional 30 pilots as overlap during the Bus transition for a total of 500 needed pilots. This still puts us over staffed till we hit about 52 total planes IMHO.

I wish I had better news! As always... Marketing can change their needs in a split second and we'll need 50 pilots yesterday - Depending on how the announced UAL domestic mainline pull back effects DEN we just may :)
