Well it's been a fun year wading through the SWA hubris on these boards - now it is the F9 pilot group's pleasure to pass the torch, have fun AirTran folks!

SWAPA is not up against 1700 AAI pilots. It is up against 66,000+. Legislation passed as a result of the AMR/TWA debauchery will ensure AAI is protected even in an acquisition. SWAPA's bullying tactics ended with Frontier.

Not to worry because I understand Gary Kelly is more concerned with his employees than seeking a merger deal. Or is he?????

If what you say is true then why were the F9 guys even offered a staple? "Fair and equitable" is an extordinarily broad term my friend.

SWA has many many pilots that quit places like Airtran to come here. Not so much the other way around.

Just like you didn't want Frontier.......You SWA guys thing you didn't get the deal because the Frontier pilots did not agree to the staple....WRONG!!! Your Mr. Kelly got out maneuvered by Republic, sad, with an offer that included keeping the Airbuses. So even though you offered more moooola it did not matter as the cost of returning the airbuses was cost prohibitive the individuals on the creditor committee.

AirTran pilots certainly don't want you!

Southwest didn't offer more moooola. Republic offered more than GK wanted to pay. Simple. To the victor go the spoils.

Come on this is FI. The guys on here aren't happy until they've over analyzed and speculated on every rumor and innuendo, called each other a plethora of nasty names, and then steered the thread into an argument about USAPA. It's been that way for years.

What's even sadder is that I keep coming back and reading this stuff hoping to actually find something intelligent, but I'm mostly disappointed.

I spoke to a Chief Pilot that was in the room with Gary Kelly during the discussion of putting the the labor clause in. Gary insisted that he didn't want "his boys" to be unhappy with the deal.
