I am looking for some advice on how I can fly for the animal. I have been trying for a year and a half and haven't heard anything. Everyone I have heard of getting hired or even getting an interview, had a recommendation, something I do not have. I have one friend that works there and he was hired 10/05 so he can't help for a year. I have more than enough time, with nearly 4000 hrs turbine/Jet PIC and I live in Denver. Any advice would be great.

Keep updating your file, ask lots of questions on FI and to any F9 employee you meet, and keep your hopes up.

From what I hear the list of people being interviewed with "silver bullets" is dwindling quick. So perhaps they will start going for those without the internal recs.

Sounds to me like you have the time, live local to F9, and should be getting a call. As of right now, 2 out of 3 ain't bad :D.

Keep at it, your time will come.

PS. Might not hurt to watch Flight Attendant School, get some inside info on the company as far as relations, etc.

Thanks for the input. I hope 2 out of 3 will be enough. I used to stop in every few months and just say hello to HR and Gary if he was around but since they have started hiring I have stayed away. I feel HR is probably busy and from what I have heard a lot of people started to visit after they started hiring and I think this started to get a bit bothersome. Hopefully my time will come. Thanks again.

Hang in there - it's a tough wait, especially when you want on so bad. I too waited a year and 1/2, but most of that time they weren't hiring. They have only been hiring since Nov and had 2 or 3 classes in 05. They are just getting ramped up - they told us (in Dec) that there will be 140 new hires through Sept 06 and I just heard a RUMOR of 165 this year. Lots of hiring yet to go, classes now are about 14 people ea. So there is still time....

There is a reason they say patience is a virtue :)

I know the math doesn't work out there, so there are those vague rumors about 'something big is in the works' but no specifics. We'll have to wait and see.

Again, that patience thing rears its ugly head.

Fly2AK...Hang in there bud...good things come to those who wait!! I mean heck, it happened to me. I am not privy to the information of how many applicants are left with recs, so i can't tell you when they will begin calling those without, but i can tell you to keep at it. Update often, i started doing it almost weekly towards the end of my go at it. I would say keep in touch with everyone you know at F9, and maybe stage a sit-in at the GO (I almost did that one as a last ditch effort:laugh: ). Just kidding about the sit-in...or am I....hmmmmmm. Just to also help keep the motivation high, I did NOT have a recommendation when i got the interview or the job.

Fly2AK......I know it is killing you to wait....I am in the same boat but keep updating that file as I am and before it is all said and done (by the end of this year) we can look back at this time and laugh. :)

If you have half the enthusiasm and good attitude that starchkr has then you will be a good addition to F9. I think that came across and that was 3/4 of his good interview-----enthusiasm is everything there.

Feel free to PM me if you have questions since I have some college buddies there and maybe I can answer some of them while we both wait with anticipation ......take care and good luck bud

Destined to go down in history as "pulling a Starch".

Just kidding StarchKR, I don't want to screw up my free pint :D .

But his advice still holds true. Keep the faith.

Again, thanks for all the advice. It is reassuring to hear someone getting hired without a rec. Shreck, hope to be laughing with you soon, maybe on an AK overnight.
