from private to airline with 50k?

Hello I would like some advice , I will borrow from my dads life savings 50k ,I feel guilty and afraid. But at the same time I am sick of working In places like walmart,not doing what I would love to do wich is flying for an airline.
Please give me advice of where to go get my other ratings, I got my private at a local airport but it took to long and it was a headache. I would like to maybe go to an academy or similar, all advice is greatly appreciated.

I also would like to know if I can kill two birds with one stone and maybe like get multi engine and comercial combined or multi and instrument combined is that better thanks a bunch.

It's between you and your Dad. You should be aware that even if you actually get a job at the airlines, you may never be able to fully repay him. With the time involved in getting your ratings and then building time at low paying jobs it would certainly be years before you were able to afford to make any kind of dent in the loan. You both should understand that before you cut the deal. You should be sure that your parents can make do without the 50k before you take it from them, they may never see it again.

Okay, I'll bite. If money's that tight just do it the "old fashioned" way (like most of us did) and pay as you go. It might take a little longer, but unless you're already 50 years old, who cares? Work a job, keep a steady 3 day a week pace and you'll get it done with no debt to anyone.

MWHAA-HAA-HA!! Din't you see the kid said he did his private at the local airport and "it took too long and was a headache." He wants to go to one of them "academys" where you are told what to do every day and you don't have to think your way through...

just fill in the blanks and you're an airline pilot.

Just as I did, and it worked out best for me. When you teach, you won’t make any money so you might want to keep that job on the side.
When on the regionals, it gets even worse, so save yourself of huge favor and stay debt free, take your time on your ratings, you won't regret it, I don't.

You can't go wrong in my opinion by going to some type of Com, ME, Inst academy, I think dragging it out just wastes money, do your research on the school, good luck.

I agree with svcta. See if you can't work out some sort of schedule with your employer. If you do three or more lessons a week you may be surprised by how quickly you can finish. Plus it will save you tons of money. Do your multi and commercial at the same time. However trying to combine the complexities of a multiengine aircraft with the steep learning curve of instrument flying may be a little too much to take, but if you think you can handle it go ahead. Most people elect to do them separate.

didnt read all of the above, but with 50k it might be a stretch at some of those schools. I would stay away. The best deal i have heard price wise doing an acclerated course is through mn aviation at albert lea minnesota. 30k for all of the ratings in 6mo. Granted, you will be flying all day everyday to make it happen that fast, but I guess it is possible
