We're ending second Freedom Airlines agreementAugust 4, 2008

We have notified Freedom Airlines of our decision to terminate the Delta Connection CRJ-900 operating agreement as a result of Freedom’s failure to meet contractually-required metrics for on-time performance and completion rate. This decision to end the 76-seat, 14-aircraft agreement is separate from our March 31 announcement to end the Freedom 50-seat, 34-aircraft operating agreement, which is in litigation.
This year, in several metrics, including departures and arrivals, completions and customer satisfaction we’ve seen marked improvement in the Delta Connection carriers’ performance, but where we haven’t, we’ve taken immediate action.
We’re discussing with Freedom to determine the timing of the operational pull down. We expect it to be orderly and to have minimal to no impact to our customers. Because we own the 14 CRJ-900 aircraft, which have been flying primarily in the Northeast, we will reallocate them to other Delta Connection carriers.

please don't turn this into another "I think ASA is going to get the 900s thread." Just like the Xjet flying in SLC, that flying most certainly is going to go to a company with a large operation there, like, say, Comair.

Which of these vultures will pick up the 16 CR9s?

A.) Comair
B.) ASA
C.) Pinnacle

or

D.) This flying is gone.

Oh snap...I hope my company can get some of those. Nothin like flying what I like to call the "heavy equipment" or the "mainline jet." This is where the money is...

People will be more exited about the potential of getting this flying than they are about getting real 20% raises to fly these things. There will still be lines of guys to fly them at current 50 seat rates. (oh yeah...plus 2%.)

Mesa sucks !!!!
:uzi:

Comair's displacement bid/furloughs canceled on Fri. 11 of the 14 CRJ900s are coming to Comair.

Mesa Sucks! Good Ridance Freedom

That would make sense. Could it be that DAL found yet another way to park 50 seaters? Give the 900 flying to Comair, then eventually park some of their 50's?? DAL's eager to park a bit of that flying.

Whatever...I'll believe it when a Comair pilot sits down in the seat and starts and engine in one of those planes.

This sucks for the Mesa guys. Delta owns the planes, they should go to mainline and pay their piltos to fly them.

Where's Pdubz

Im here! Im here! Im here!..I was getting my hair cut

*sits down at the press table*

I saw this coming from a mile away. I believe this cancellation of the 900 flying is going to end up with a different outcome than the ERJ case(Delta all together wants out of the 50 seat market). I believe this will have the same outcome as the Pinnacle case. My guess is that JO will go to DL and plead for another chance like Pinnacle. He will use the Contract TA as a bargaining tool.

I would hope they don't give JO another chance considering so many of their employees at Comair could be out of jobs.

Well it would only be fair since DL gave pinnacle another chance. But who knows??? In reagrds to the Comair folks, I believe its CHQ acellerated pull out of the CVG ERJs is whats gonna help the comair guys keep their jobs.

I don't care where the CR9's go as long as "Freedom" or "Mesa" never, ever again flies an aircraft dressed in Delta colors.
They made my commute "living hell" last year when they were flying to my home city. What a useless operation all round! Good riddance!
