To EVERYONE who is a member of, or views, this forum:

It has been brought to my attention (thanks to my flight instructor and a couple other members of this forum) that a user has been using my personal information, and my website, and claiming it to be his/her own. The user with the alias "MattERAU" is NOT the person whose website and other profile information describes.

I have no idea who this person is, but I can assure you that I have begun measures to have this person removed from the list, and to the extent possible to be prosecuted in court for fraud.

His posts to this forum could clearly cause damages to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, to myself, and to other members and viewers of this forum.

If anyone would like clarification as to who I really am, my website describes it best. I do not share the ideas this other member has posted to the public. I greatly apologize for the confusion and any other harm this person has caused.

Happy Independence Day.

Sincerely,

Matthew Teixeira
Prescott, AZ

P.S.

I am much more interested in the aircraft; not the uniform. In my time here at Riddle, I have never heard of a Riddle pilot getting hired to an airline with less than standard hours. I congratulate our team for their 2003 and previous National Championships, as well as UND for their championship this year and in the past. I am unfortunately not a rich kid (but if anyone is offering donations I'll accept...just kidding of course). That would greatly help me out, but I am making it through the program like most everyone else here.

That's all. Thank you for your time.

Matt,

Unfortunately, there are some people on this board that are just not nice people, and will even go so far as to ruin people's reputations for the sake of what they believe to be a funny joke. I'm sorry you appear to have borne the brunt of this. I'm embarassed that some stooped so low to make fun of you, but sadly, I'm not surprised.

Riddle alum

Matt,
You are a tool. quit being such a riddle loser and worrying about taking people to court. It is people like you that give the school a bad name. some advice go get laid and drink a beer or 12

Re: Prosecution

I state that, not because I have intentions of doing so, but because there most likely will be parties interested in doing so. Embry-Riddle takes pride in its great reputation, and does not take lightly to people hurting it. I have great respect for this school. I also greatly believe in the federal system. It is in place for a reason, and people deserve the consequences of their actions. I do not appreciate people who go so far as to commit fraud and pose damages to people and institutions.

I hope that clarifies the issue.

Riddle's Rep

Hate to break it to you but you will realize when you actually graduate, and get away from the people at the school that are feeding you a line of crap, and start actually flying a line at ANY airline Riddle does not only not have a good rep, there rep is down right bad among line pilots who are not grads or have kids who are. You will find this out some day. I felt the same way when I went there. Hell for $600 a credit which is what i payed you refuse to believe they dont have the great rep, but among line pilots they dont. On the other hand in my training class we started with 6 people. 4 riddle grads and 2 were not. Two failed out. Guess what they were not the riddle grads. I guess my point is to not worry about what other people think whether it be good or bad, and just perform.

I think I see your point. That makes sense. Seeing how other people seem to respond to Riddle people, it makes a lot of sense. But thanks for that knowledge.

Also, $600 a credit? Don't know if you've heard about it but in the time I've been here it's gone up quite a bit. I wish I was paying $600 right about now!!!

Just curious, when did you graduate and from which campus was it?

When I started at Riddle it was $135 per credit hour, and I thought that was highway robbery!

I doubt it...no one has ever heard of you, and I doubt Embry Riddle cares about your stinking web site.
Embry-Riddle takes pride in its great reputation, and does not take lightly to people hurting it.
I have been cracking on riddlers for years and I have yet to see a letter carrier wearing sneakers and toting a suppressed M-10 in his leather bag at my door. I'll try to be more considerate in the future, since a pair of riddlers fly at our drop zone where I jump out of airplanes. Nahhh...maybe I won't....kind of scary when you think about it. We only trust them to take off, not land and then we only do that while wearing helmets and parachutes!
I also greatly believe in the federal system.
Now I know you don't know what the f@ck you are talking about. What exactly are you talking about, anyway? The federal system? Are you drunk or just enjoying too many Peyote buttons? You sound like a stinking democrat...

ERAU in Prescott gave me my first full-time flying job in 1988. I had students who have gone on to the airlines, at least one of whom is a member of this board. I gave Falcon Capt. a stage check. He went on to great success as a corporate pilot. I should like to think that their Riddle educations fostered their success, at least in part. Moreover, I learned tons as an ERAU flight instructor. It turned out that ERAU was my best flying job. All my subsequent jobs were worse.

Without a doubt, Riddle has its drawbacks. Students and instructors have to surmount considerable obstacles, silly politics and agenda-promoters to achieve their goals. Some of the on-campus people play games and feed their students bull, which might contribute to some Riddlers' arrogant attitudes. But, overall, the good at ERAU outweighs the bad.

Finally, I would just say I'm sorry to see Riddle get into the P-F-T business, as it has in Daytona with its CAPT progam. Another Riddle on-campus academics ivory tower pipe dream that ignores the real world.

yeah, daytona always had some bizarre ideas about how to do things,
i remember when i was in prc, dab decided to essentially do away with the multi-engine program (sometime during 91-94 so instead of graduating with a reasonable 50-60hrs of multi you came out with around 15) thats when prc finally started to assert some autonomy from the lunacy of the B.o.D. at dab.

and yeah, there are lots of tools from riddle out there giving all of us a bad name, the majority of them seemingly being from DAB, I went to both campus' (1semsester at DAB, 3.5yrs at PRC) and most of the people that I knew at prc were much more grounded in reality than the people in dab were not to say that there weren't some real 'winners' in prescott.

I was all set to go to Riddle back in the fall of '83. I ended up getting a music scholarship to Hofstra University, so I decided to pursue that, and learn to fly locally. After one semester, I realized, that even at 18, there are only so many hours in the day, and something had to give. I ended up at a small community college in PA, where I was able to bang out my ratings (private, commercial instrument) in 3 semesters. After graduating there, I did one semester at a college back in NY. The place I was working in MX offered me a charter/airline job flying Chieftans and Bonanzas with a bit over 500 hours. I put off finishing 4 years, since I could always go back to college, but a paying flying job that wasn't instructing (I still don't have a CFI) was too good to pass up. Had I done the Riddle thing, I would have been at least a year behind starting out, and likely would have ended up even more arrogant, if possible!;)

Riddle is a good school, but there ARE as good and much less expensive alternatives to the Riddle "experience". You also don't have to spend the rest of your career fending off Riddle jokes ;) .

When you are sitting in front of an interviewer at an airline, the 4 year degree is just part of the admission price and it makes NO difference what name is on it at that point, regardless of what the Kool Aid folks at Riddle tell you.

I know a few Riddle grads that border on fanatical when it comes to their Alma Mater. I am almost embarrassed for them.

In retrospect, I am glad that I didn't go there.......YMMV!

Yeah, we had some tools in PRC, even among the instructors, and some real underachievers, but most were sincere, motivated people. And, despite the on-campus Riddle kool-aid, you cannot beat the education, though other quality aviation colleges provide equally good education.

Do yourself a favor

Comeing from a Riddle grad, Dec, 03 who now flies the line, do yourself a favor and put it on your resume, but dont go around telling everyone, or for that matter anyone. I know the REAL Riddle rep and it sucks among many line pilots. Even line pilots with Riddle degrees dont like it because they all knew to many tools from Riddle. On the bright side, I loved going to school in DAB and I am currently bideing my time to get based back in FL. I guess doing a winter in the Northeast will do that to a guy.
