I tend to be very busy in FBO's. Not alot of time to chat with anyone. If you see me hanging around, big guy with a yellow Nike tie, come over and ask me about the weather, Red Sox or my kids. I promise not to spin off into a Contract rant.
However, if you come up to me, as many of you do, and ask "How's that contract coming," you just might get an earfull.

I've never met a NJ pilot on the road that didn't talk SOLELY about their contract woes. I kinda feel sorry for them. The morale there is as bad, if not worse, than Eagle. I wonder how much worse it will get this summer.

Trust me, there are a good number of us who do indeed talk about other than contract issues. That's not to say we aren't concerned and thoughtful about our contract situation, but it's not the only thing that "all" of us talk about. In fact, I'd much rather discuss music or hockey with people outside of NetJets.

Hopefully the situation is fixed soon and we can "all" return to geeky airplane talk in the pilot lounges.

You know what enough of this crap. NJA pilots have stated our position yeah you know why you hear it everyday because we are everywhere. Enough of you guys bashing us and enough of you bitching about us.

I've said my piece about where I stand on the 135 scab issue but you guys coming here just trashing us is not right. You know it and i know it. ENOUGH

Diesel; Let me apologize to you. I don't agree with many things you post. However on the issues discussed here and the strike thread, you seem to be one of the cooler heads over there. I'm sure there are many more like you, and I apologize to them also. Good luck in the coming months..

Hey rick no worries. It's the problem with the written word sometimes it just doesn't come across right. We have enough problems in life not to get bashed about it too.

It is what it is. No harm no foul.

Actually, the pilots out there thinking about applying here are very interested in our posts. Seeing as how the pilot recruitment office can't get anywhere near enough qualified applicants, our posts are being effective in reaching the people we want to reach.

UAL offered scabs $75,000 twenty years ago and didn't get many takers.

The real question is how many of the (qualified) pilots answering all the help wanted ads are ACTUALLY interested in working for less than minimum wage to fly for Netjets.

The unknown is the percentage of REAL job seekers. Anyone can send in a resume. What percent of those resumes are viable candidates, and of those, what percentage will accept the job? If the company is counting on say 1 percent (net of total resumes received) and only .05 percent actually decide to accept, what happens?

I directly AVOID talking about the contract...

But regardless of what I may be talking about in an FBO, what do you think the first question asked when another corporate or other fractional pilot walks in? "How's the contract?" SO don't look at it like that is all we talk about, agreed some people are a bit obsessed with it but for the most part I don't see it even brought up until someone else asks.

Honestly, Eagle was ten times worse..... thats why I left the frying pan for the fire. What a glutton for punishment I am!!

In defense of the NJA FBO-dwellers I've found that when you have a lousy CBA and are trying to improve it dramatically, it is the topic of conversation among your fellow pilots. I've been there before.

I will caution them not to get their hopes up when the next lousy TA comes down the pike--sure that no reasonable person could vote for that piece of $**t!. I've been there before, too and got the shock of my life.

Good luck.TC

I'd agree that morale towards the company is quite low. Morale and support for each other has never been higher.
