this is a major reason why regional pilots are going to have a hard time getting the interview.....its not discrimination, its buinsness, and most younger 121 regional guys want nothing to do with work and think they are owed a pay check. ......just how ive seen it working at both regional and business aviation......it is what it is gents.

im am sure there are exceptions either way

I disagree completely, we are looking for good overall people young and old. I am 28 and am one of about 14 hired from my former regional since October all are under the age of 35. (personally I'm 3 for 3 on letters of rec. being hired:beer: )
 
Tired, tired old response....you lack of accepting reality is the only thing showing, and deep down you know it (no matter what the posturing on here).

We have lots of guys get hired at NJA with airline backgrounds; in fact we hire from a vary wide variety of aviation backgrounds.

Fortunately, the two most recent Chief F/A administrations have improved the...ahem...qualifications of the F/A's hired. This one happens to be late 30's, blond, fun to fly with, and very not bad.
 
I've noticed that a few 121 guys customer service is horrendous. I ask them to go back and check on the customers ( among other things associated with helping the pax) and they look at me like "are you serious?" 80% of the time I end up heading back. THIS IS NOT ALL, but something I've noticed. They just have to get out of the mentality of getting in, shutting the door, and opening once the peeps are out of the plane.


Likewise, I have noticed that those who have excellent used car sales skills are usually a little weak in the ole SOP and flying profile as compared to those who were from a 121 carrier where there was supposed to be no difference in operation of the jet between any crewmember combination. Kind of a safety thing, or so I have been told. I personally don't like to have to guess what pilot X is going to do if Y happens, but that's just me. THIS IS NOT ALL, but something I have noticed.
 
agreed....lumping all into a few is bad...i stand corrected :)

there are good and bad eggs all around...regardless of background
