Maybe this question has been asked many times. Why are fractionals (especially XOJET) not as interested, or "hate" 121-applicants applying to their company to fly a business jets?
For myself I always wanted to fly for the airlines and after being in the industry for 5 years; I realize its not for me. I frankly don't understand why a company would discriminate on that past experience. At my airline when I did new-hire interviews I never singled out an applicant that had prior corporate experience. Can anyone elebrate?

idk......maybe "enter door and turn left".

fractional and charter is a completly diffrent world. Small uncontrolled airports, better equipment, etc. strong customer service requirements.

Many make the transition easily. All people are looking for is a good attitude. Leave the "what are you going to do for ME" attitude behind (common sense right?)

Corp/Fractional is very different in terms of customer service than the airlines. The bar is set far higher and that is what keeps the industry thriving today.

I dont really see the "anti-121" attitude very often, and I would hope most places would judge the individual, not his previous job.

In our department we have a handful of ex-121 guys, and the vast majority made the transition just fine - and seem to like the change from 121 today.

Good Luck.

If you always wanted to be a flight attendant, ground servicer, baggage thrower, waiter, shrink and pilot all in one job, you'll have no problem with the transition.

I've noticed that a few 121 guys customer service is horrendous. I ask them to go back and check on the customers ( among other things associated with helping the pax) and they look at me like "are you serious?" 80% of the time I end up heading back. THIS IS NOT ALL, but something I've noticed. They just have to get out of the mentality of getting in, shutting the door, and opening once the peeps are out of the plane.

Your jealousy is showing again VOR....

this is a major reason why regional pilots are going to have a hard time getting the interview.....its not discrimination, its buinsness, and most younger 121 regional guys want nothing to do with work and think they are owed a pay check. ......just how ive seen it working at both regional and business aviation......it is what it is gents.

im am sure there are exceptions either way

Do you see (red highlight) maybe why a company would not hire an attitude such as this one? You can not have said attitude and think that a growing company (XO Jet) will hire ya. Right now there are 1,000s of apps in at some fracs. NJA is said to have over 10,000 apps/resumes on file. With airlines layoff or about those pilots have applied. CS and FLOPS have had many of their pilots app to NJA to better their life. See how it can seem that 121 pilots are not being hired. Questions for ya. Did you apply and/or interview at XO or any other frac company? Or is the fact you speak of what some of your buddies are saying in crew room talk?
Roll the dice and apply to all the fracs you want to work with. Good luck and realize this side of the industry is not airline flying.
