The sections are also oriented to true north by a method of survey called cadastral ("from the stars") surveying.

Cadastral does not mean from the stars, it means pertaining to land ownership. Any survey that establishes or retraces ownership boundaries is considered a cadastral survey, regardless of whether astronomical methods are used. The root of the word is "cadastre" not "astral"

In it's infinite wisdom, the FAA will soon create a new category called "cross world" for those in low earth orbit under 100,000 feet and "cross universe" for those pilots flying to the moon .
