And, sadly, one of those on the APAAD advisory board actually blew his brains out.
\bite me age 60 guys. you knew what the rules were
Did you read the "preferred" requirements? They "prefer" 2,000 total!
Yes...and you now know what the rules are. Any law can be changed....and though organization, hard work and dedication...it got changed.
I hope you noticed that whining and complaining on web boards got the opposition a 390-0
vote in the House. They couldn't even get one guy to vote for the opposing view.
And While that is sad and unfortunate it does show he should not have been flying. Age issue aside if his life was worth so little to him that outside of the left seat then he had much bigger issues......Sad none the less.

Guys,
Hadn't been on hear in some time, and it's probably been answered, but what happens at FEDEX to the guys who are over 60 but in an SO seat. They are still employs of the company, but can they continue in a window seat til 65? Thanks again!
I can only hope my generation of pilots actually does something to better the profession. Rant Over!!
I have done what i can do and it didn't help. Honestly if this is about being fair why dont you old guys invite the retired people under 65 to return and give them back their seniority number ahead of you until they hit 65? I would be willing to bet none of you would allow that. This isn't about being fair its about being GREEDY. Go ahead allow those whom have just retired to come back and push you back, Its only FAIR!!
Even if you could come back to the line, who would really want it. Airline flying so far down the toilet these days that doing just about anything is better than hanging around the wailing wall at your local base ops. I ery happy having left at age 58 and no I did not take a bundle of cash with me. Just my sanity, well...sort of.
Its turds like you that make me glad that there will be old geezers still flying and therefore keeping you locked into the right seat of that PFT gig your parents are financing with their retirement savings, to get you moved out of their basement. Yah they knew the rules and used the system to change said rules, you on the other hand, jack off while flying the MS flight sim on your PC, and the only thing you have to show for all your "hard" work is carpal tunnel syndrome.\bite me age 60 guys. you knew what the rules were
