Do you really want to put the girls of UND up against Illinois, Auburn, and Purdue? Not the aviation girls only...but the college itself?Steveair said:Yep its cold... 3 feet of snow per year not per day and quite frankly, 2 cold winters (which most handle no problem), is well worth the 70K I saved! Girls are the best looking here....merely the fact that we have more than 2 on campus is nice, and trust me, they don't layer inside....
Spoken like a true Riddle Grad!91 said:Come on fellas, you don't go to an aviation school for the girls. There were plenty of townie skanks anyway. I do remember at some point (96ish?) the school decided to create a woman's volleyball team in a poorly veiled attempt to draw more women to try to even out the guy/girl ratio. Kind of amusing...
Completely agree. If I had to do it over I would be at Auburn in a heart beat. Great flying program up here, nice people and all, but over the past 3 years I've come to realize that flying isn't everything when it comes to school. I would take a great well rounded university with a less known flying program over one of the "giants" anyday at this point in my college career.I gotta throw in with the pro-Auburn crowd here. I visited a bud there while in school, and all I can say is WOW.
...isn't that 90% of the state colleges?Vladimir Lenin said:Whatever happened to going to a 4 year state college, partying your azz off and flying at a local FBO? All for about half to 3/4 less than the price of an "aviation" college and graduating with a meaningful degree.
Don't get me wrong, but I think any college that will accept anyone who'll pay the bill is kind of like collegiate PFT from the start.
Oh yes, and ERAU (or any of the colleges mentioned above) are any different? Give me a break, anyone with a large enough bank account can get into any college.minitour said:...isn't that 90% of the state colleges?
Not quite, and still cheaperminitour said:...isn't that 90% of the state colleges?
Purdue by far is not the end-all of hot women, but it aint bad. The AvTech program is sorely lacking (each year gets a little better, IMO), but the campus as a whole is pretty good. With 38,000+ students, they are PLENTY of good lookin' women out there. Just go to the co-rec or Cactus any given Thursday, you'll see what I mean.Jedi_Cheese said:Purdue... PLEASE GIVE ME A BREAK!!! While none of the chicks met the landwhale classification, none that I saw were a 10 and the 9's were few and far between.
Guess again Sherlock......go put in your app to Purdue and Illinois and you better have a 28 or better ACT and a hell of a high school GPA and rank to get in as a freshman....transfer is a little easier with good grades. They don't accept every shmoe with money....that would be Riddle.Jedi_Cheese said:Oh yes, and ERAU (or any of the colleges mentioned above) are any different? "Well, frankly, test scores like Larry's would call for a very generous contribution. [opens book] For example, a score of 400 would require a donation of new football uniforms, 300, a new dormitory, and in Larry's case, we would need an international airport." - Simpsons
Isn't that kind of like any FBO? Let anybody fly who can afford to, even those with questionable skills? At least all the ones I've ever flown into or worked for...Vladimir Lenin said:Don't get me wrong, but I think any college that will accept anyone who'll pay the bill is kind of like collegiate PFT from the start.
Take it from a Part 141 CFI at a busy FBO, if they can't fly it, I won't solo them and the management won't say a da/\/\n thing. An explanation is given, and that's the end of story. If the customer still wishes to fly with a CFI, just because they like it, then we'll most certainly aim to please. Usually, those customers are well heeled professional adults, with no qualms about their career aspirations.BoilerUP said:Isn't that kind of like any FBO? ...that was my point exactly...if you've got money, almost all State schools will let you in as a "Conditional Student"...trust me...all the ones I talked to gave me the same dealJedi_Cheese said:Oh yes, and ERAU (or any of the colleges mentioned above) are any different?
