from a prospects view

After i took my first intro ride, which i got to do a good amount of the flying (although i know the instructor was controlling the ruder pedals to correct anything i was doing), i was never asked by either the instructor or the school about future flights. I remember standing in the lobby, saying 'thats it?' to my girlfriend asking if i has to sign something or get paperwork, and the lady at the desk said no. Had anyone said something, i very well might have signed up.
At this point im still picking a school (at republic airport on long island), but i know i wont be choosing the one i took the ride at.
Dont know if im like most prospective students, but with me, all the instructor had to do is ask!

Another tip: If you are unsuccessful in selling the flying lessons, try to sell them a logbook. Say something like:

"Even though you're not interested in starting up with us now, you can purchase a logbook for X dollars, and this flight lesson is good forever. That way if you ever decide to start, you're already on your way."

Have you read "The Saavy CFI" yet? It's a must read!

I'm surprised we haven't heard from Toy Soldier yet....

BAD A$$ Instructor

Hey Marinegrunt. Is your actually you? Because I cant get the thought out of my head of you meeting your prospective student while wearing your war paint. Telling them to cut their hair and "Stop asking questions, Im in charge!!! Now drop and give 50!!!"
