I"m down here on the west coast of florida, and we just had a cold front come through...I was confused when I saw that fog set in this morning after the front went through. I thought that weather cleared up after a cold front moved through. I looked all over meteorology sites for an explanation of this, but couldn't find one. The temp/dew spread is 66/62. I looked at the water vapor satellite pic and it is very dry behind the front. Winds are at 8 knts, and So that doesn't make sense.

If anyone could explain this, please do!! I am very interested in weather and like to know why things are happening.

thanks!!

Not that unusual, especially if you had a squall line go through ahead of the front creating precip fog. This condition is really pronounced in mountainous areas as well. hope that helps.

Sounds like advection fog to me. Sea breeze bringing in moist air from the ocean over the relatively cooler ground due to the front. Cloud cover and precip from the proceeding showers cooled the ground even more.
