Salo is basically pork fat that has cured in vats and it is used as a spread on bread or whatever your heart desires. Sometimes it is cured with garlic or pepper. Taste like pig fat, only different.
Daveman: Yes they are knockouts, but I've run into a few in Canada that would love to knock you out and take your monies. I'm sure it's no different over there. Be careful but enjoy!
