I was wondering if anyone knew anything about flying in Europe. I was hoping to find a flying job in Europe, but I heard JAA certificate convertion is very hard to do. If anyone knows anything about either the convertion process or available jobs please let me know. Thank you.

Unless you have a ton of experience it is going to be very hard, because of the JAA.
You just can't "covert" your license that easy.
I don't know enough about al the different rules etc that apply (few people do because it's so friggin' complicated over there), but you can start by calling the Uiversity of Michigan http://www.wmich.edu/aviation/info/contact.htm
They do JAA courses I believe.

Hope it helps.

JAA license

I asked this a month or two ago. Just type in JAA license in the search and it comes up under Skater. It is not easy to do as you will see when you read it. Good luck.

thanks for the help. Any info about jobs available in Europe (Italy preferrably)? Any input would help.

Can you get an EU passport? That's what it will take to get hired by a Euro company - EU citizenship. Also, when they clear you direct Firenze - they mean Florence. Can you speak Italian?
One option is that there are some Lears in Naples, Italy that pull targets for the Navy. American company - defense contractor. Unfortunately I cannot remember the name but they have 2-3 Learjets at Capodichino - Naples Int'l.

Thanks for the info learherkjay. Yea, I have an Italian passport and speak Italian. If you happen to remember the name of that company could you please PM me? If its a US contractor do you think that I could fly with my FAA liscence? Thanks again.
