Isn't there a Air Inc. job fair this weekend somewhere????????????

Wow! Their revenue fares cost less than my buddy passes!

It's because of the job fair. At least they are being proactive for once. Hey, what are you going to do? Try to trade or drop a trip....denied.....vacation day....denied. What's left? Have to look out for #1, no one else will. Do what you can to secure your future. Good luck guys and gals.

They cx flights because of a job fair? What gives?

well they would have to cx the flights anyway, might as well do it early instead of at the last minute

From a Chief Pilot message the other day:

"This weekend and the job fair in DC looms close. My apologies for mentioning this again, as I know you have seen several communications about this already. As an update, we have granted leave to every person who has requested to attend the job fair, and have cancelled – at this writing – about 90 flights for Saturday. If you plan to go and have not talked to a chief pilot PLEASE call today so that we can plan our staffing accordingly. We are very concerned about the Airbus operation as well as the CRJ schedule, and have asked - for any pilots who are able - to please help cover flights this weekend. It occurred to me that you may be attending the job fair, and yet may still find yourself available by the end of the day on Saturday or Sunday. If it is at all possible to help us cover Saturday night overnights, please contact crew scheduling and come help us keep the sched going, even if it is at the last minute. If you volunteer to come in you will NOT be extended without your permission!! Doing so helps support the rest of the pilot group as well as the company, and I want to thank everyone in advance who will be helping recover from the challenges posed this weekend. One other note, the chief pilots will all be flying this weekend, and as a result there will not be much office coverage."

You've gotta admire their willing to accept the fact that over half of their pilot group is going to the job fair!! He sounds like a good guy to work for!!! Kudo's to him or her!!!
