ahhh, not yet...it's on a post-it stuck to my computer monitor (it's amazing how quickly time slides by...especially when you're busy). I leave in an hour to go to TUS where we stay at the Embassy Suites...that doesn't have free internet, and I believe their business center is still under construction so unless I can talk them into free internet for the next few days, looks like I won't be able to sign up for a little while longer.

I currently am a member of NBAA Airmail alot of good info on this site but you get alot of e-mails (200-300 per-day) depending on which areas you subscribe to.

I agree, there are some days that the mail can pile up, and you can look at it in 2 ways.
1) My mailbox is getting full and its annoying (usually the case if it's a subject that is of no interest)
2) An opprotunity to learn. When the mail starts piling up, there is usually a heated discussion going on and lots of different points of views coming out, and a lot of the times, things you might not have normally considered are being represented and I tend to get more out of it than not.

There are some on here that already know everything, so it's of no use to them, but I have learned a great deal from it. I belong to

AVmanager
Pilots
Jobs
Aircraft that I Fly

Avmanager is great for several reason. There are a lot of subjects that come up with guys running flight departments that line pilots usually do not contend with. It's a great source for learning information if you want to eventually want to do more than just come in and fly your trip then go home. It will also allow you to hold an indepth conversation with a CP or department head, and a lot of the times being able to hold your own in a conversation like reflects well upon your person, as it shows you truly care and have an interest in what makes an airplane fly (Money), not just what can I do to become a captain. Finally, some of these guys talk about hiring and the things they see out of some people (canadates coming in telling what airplanes they will and will not hire if offered a job, schedule demands, 1500 TT Comm?Inst/ME insisting on 100K to fly a citation I because NBAA says that the going rate, etc). It allows you to get a back door play book on what to and not to say/do in an interview.

Pilots: Great for general line pilot issues. Lots of data, tables, links, etc.

Jobs: Great Fortune 200 jobs. A job posting on NBAA is usually a good job that lots of folks will line up for. I'd rather say I saw the job on NBAA than monster.com. Just my preference

A/C Specific: Not a lot of talking going on there, but when there is, it's usually a MX issue that is rare. You can learn a lot about MX issues from a pilot's point of view, and if your aircraft shows symptoms of the same developing problem, you can save the boss some coin on trouble shooting as you already know what the problem probably is. Also, if you have a MX issue that is not going away, posting it here usually generates responses from folks that have "been there done that", and they'll tell you EXACTLY how to resolve the problem, and if it is intricate, who the expert is to call to get it fixed. Once again, a great tool.

I set up a seperate email account just for the airmail. A discussion can add 300 emails in a short time. I'd recomend it.

The second mailbox for NBAA (or any post system) is a great idea. NBAA is a good system but as in any email the occasional virus or spam gets in.

I did it a while ago....and I read almost every message that comes through. I am signed up for Avmgr, Pilots, LBAO, Fractional(with a big fat goose egg for messages, ), Jobs, fixed wing I fly, and all helo. It's a great source for info, IMO.

Some of the opinions on the ASE discussion in Avmgr lately have been....ummm....interesting.

Diesel--Thanks for the idea on the separate mail box. I was going nuts deleting all the crap on my primary mail.TC

yeah imagine all that stuff going to your blackberry. Everytime i landed i my blackberry was having a meltdown.

Had to have a second mailbox.
