Your profile 7K TT. 737, L1011, 727, IA-Jet. 3 Post! Is this for one of your friends, children....What. Can you be more specific or is this a joke.

Where do they live? Age? Educational background? You know about this 1500 hour thing right?

It's for a friend who is interested in this career. He has a 2 year degree and is 21 years old. Lives in TPA area. Just trying to get some good ideas for training. Thanks

With that 7K hours and those type-ratings, you should already know about this industry and where to get training. You should also know that only a fool would want to get into this industry.

I'm guessing that you're the old and ignorant, never worked at a modern 'regional' (aka subcontractor) before. That explains why you are asking in the regional forum for advice on where to get started.

If there is one consensus that can be reached by 99.99% of regional pilots it is: This career path sucks.

You should not be recommending to any person whom you have any regard for whatsoever to be getting into this business. It is awful. They will never have a QOL anything close to what guys who did the same job 20 years ago did.

Cheapest and fastest way (especially with the new TT regs and reduced mins.) is to go to a "zero to hero" school like ALLATPS. They have bridge programs and the students build multi from day one, pretty much.

I find part 61 to provide more of an education, but it costs more and is usually much less structured, although your experiences are more varied in this environment.
