No, but I got lost............

There is a place in Arlington, TX simply called "multi engine rating" that offers the MEL rating for a flat fee of $1295 + examiner fee. I think they also rent the Travel air for $120 an hour but I may be wrong. I'm trying to find out if anyone has any experience with them as I need a cheap multi rating. Anyone... anyone? Bueller?

I did it with them (Multi-Engine Training, Arlington) back in March. I have nothing but good things to say about them. They know what they're doing, and it is a well set-up program. The instructors are not people trying to get multi time. All instructors I'd say are over 55, or at least close to it. They had 2 Travelairs up and running when I was there but they have 4 of them. The checkride was also a learning experience. You can also get 10 hours of twin time after you do their program for $1290. Not a bad deal if you ask me. They have a deal set up with a hotel a mile away for $49.99 a night. They will also come pick you up at the motel every morning and also pick you up at DFW if you fly in commercially. I couldn't rent a car (age), so them taking me where I needed to go was a plus. If you want any more info, PM me and I'll see what I can do.

I'd recommend them too. I went through the training in early June for my commercial/mulit add-on.

Ditto on all that. I will probably go back for my ATP. Instructors were great and for the age of the airplanes they are in alright condition. The travelair was actually more fun to fly than a seminole I thought. Good motel that is a short walk from a mall with a movie theater and restaurants. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think they had a continental breakfast as well.

there's ari-ben in Fort Pierce FL, I've heard good and bad things about them... seems a bit shady with half of your time being safety pilot time though...

Thanks....I'm really not too excited about buying a 50 hour block and have it be logged as safety pilot.

I'd rather just build hours working as an MEI.

Do you know if these guys do MEI add-ons? Cost? Thanks. John

They do but I don't have a price. I don't have the book with me that shows all of the prices and won't be able to get a hold of it until Friday. If no one comes up with it by then I'll let you know.

Thanks. Does anyone have their phone number? I'll just call them up.
