i can relate. there a few guys that slip through the cracks. granted i am not God's gift to aviation, and have had made a few decisions with less than a desirable outcome. but some of these guys lack the basic common sense.
as for engine troubles(or poor Mx) for that matter i have only heard of one instance and it was on a plane that had contract work done on it in LIT. honestly i think there is only so much preventative mx that can be done to keep these over-abused planes until its time for the tin foil plant.
my apologies to the crews in CPS, and can assure you that not all of us are like that.
