What Flight Administration contributes to Cardinal Health

Flight Administration is responsible for coordinating aircraft scheduling and dispatch requirements in accordance with FAA regulatory guidance and company aircraft usage policy


Qualifications

  • Proactively develops and maintains broad knowledge of the technical disciplines in own functional area(s); applies broad knowledge of trends

  • Champions and leads change initiatives; identifies the best approach for implementing strategic processes in light of cultural and diversity
  • Manages day-to-day operational processes; develops and implements procedures in response to changing business needs and program design.
  • Evaluates alternative solutions/decisions in light of the potential impact on the internal/external customer and Cardinal Health; understands the resource implications of solutions and makes recommendations in adherence to governance and prioritization guidelines.
Accountabilities in this role

  • This position reports to the Director of Aviation and is responsible for all scheduling and dispatch functions associated with aircraft operations.
  • The Flight Scheduler is the flight department’s primary point of contact for the leadership team’s administrative assistants for all aviation related requirements.
  • The Flight Scheduler will also assist the Director of Aviation with various administrative duties to include the payment of bills and general departmental correspondence.
  • Schedules company aircraft for flights and maintenance (35%)
  • Assigns crews in compliance with company policy. (25%)
  • Schedules ground transportation and accommodations for flight crews and passengers. (15%)
  • Logs flight times and keeps flight department records in accordance with FAA and policies. (10%)
  • Assists the Chief Pilot with administrative duties as assigned (10%)
  • Coordinates aircraft charter requests as required. (5%)
  • Anticipated start date is June 2009
Qualifications
  • High School Degree required.
  • Strong knowledge of computer software applications.
  • An FAA Aircraft Dispatch License is preferred.
  • Two years experience in corporate aircraft scheduling/dispatch planning and executing domestic and international trips is required.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with corporate aviation scheduling software principles.
  • Strong grasp of Microsoft Office applications to include Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Familiarity with basic accounting/budget execution skills a plus.
  • Must be willing to work irregular hours/weekends and provide after hours support when required by emergent aviation requirements.
