For all you Chief Pilots / Dept. Managers....

I'm curious about what effective and useful software is available for managing a small (one airplane - lear 35) flight department. We mostly need aircraft records, times, etc. Would be nice to have pilot currency tracking as well...but I don't need high dollar software made for large departments...something economical for us?

Any Opinions? Thanks!

re: Check out Bart at www.seagil.com They can arrange an online demo for you.

Thanks for the info...do you know the average cost? I requested information, but it will be a week or so before I get that. I didn't see any price on the website.

Thanks!

We use Bart for Charter quote, scheduling and records. Initial cost was (I think) $ 6000 and a yearly cost of $2470! I'm searching for a different program. What is PFM?

PFM

PFM is Professional Flight Management. It does everything including travel sense and SIFL quotes. It may even do charter quotes. I’ll try the find the POC we use.

Thanks Hog. AvMgr you must be getting kick backs from CTA because you always bring them up when we talk about this. I'm looking for something simpler for a 1 aircraft operation and significantly cheaper than what we are paying for BART. I feel the annually fee is outrageous for the service we get from Seagill. It is even more if you want to keep the Accuquik database current.

cvsfly, do me a favor, and call Fred Powell at CTA. I'd very much appreciate getting kickbacks for all the business I've steered his way. Maybe you can tell him to do just that :). But seriously, I don't get a penny from CTA, not even a discount on any of the yearly updates. And I pay for the Akukwik update just like everyone else, it's actually billed directly from Akukwik. CTA and PFM really have no control about that cost, they're just the middleman.

Our company uses Bart and all i hear is them complain. It does some real nice things when it works right. Customer support is aweful. We continue to use it because we have alot of money invested in the system.
