This study should be shining tribute to government stupidity.

I can't wait to get a copy of this one.

It's hard to believe that this link is not a joke but I fear it's real. The argument that pilots and FA's should be paid the same and that their work is equally valuable fails on many levels. Need anyone even attempt to hash out all of the reasons that this idea is wrong?

#1 Flight Attendant: "What do pilots use for birth control?"

#2 Flight Attendant: "Their personalities".

What do pilots use as their back-up method?

A: Their layover clothes.

Watch for the bait and switch... Not FAs to be paid like pilots, but pilots to be paid like FAs. (with all repsect to FAs)

When at the airport, look like a pilot, act like a pilot.... and yes that means wear your hat. (Oh no...not the hat issue again!!)

What does an RJ crew all have in common? They all look like FAs....

I guess doctors better watch their backs... nurses will be on the next wagon to litigation-ville. Then, maybe CEO secretaries will be due the same multi-million dollar parachutes their "co workers" are receiving. Finally, wives who sit at home and do nothing but shop will be owed more than half of their rich husband's earnings when they decide the hot bartender dude can give them what they really need...... oh, wait a minute!.......

What about my backpack?

I don't like wearing my hat, it gets in the way of my backpack when I'm putting it on. I cant use a carry on because I like to get an ice cream cone while I walk through the airport.

"We do more than just serve pop and pretzels. People just don't understand.....If the plane goes down who is going to pull their sorry butt out of the wreckage."

Last time I checked, most of the new hire 17 year old high school girl flight attendants could'nt even lift the emergency exit in a crj.

Oh well, I guess in Canada it does'nt matter. Pay them more that the Pilots.

SAD!

We've got the same problem at AAA but instead of a 17 year old being unable to lift the emergency exit it's the 77 year old that can't do it. I hope you're not complaining....

Yeah the hat thing again. Man, if we all just wore hats, that would turn everything around.

What color is the sky in your world?

The hat won't cure this alone. We need to snug up our ties and zip our leather jackets up half way as well! Those together will ensure that we're paid more than the aircraft cleaners.

Forget hats, we need to rid the profession of clip-on ties and guys who get their pants hemmed to fall just above the ankle. I don't care how comfortable they are, nobody outside of aviation makes six figures wearing clip-on ties. I know looks are superficial but when it comes down to it you have to look the part. Investment bankers, lawyers, management, etc. wear two thousand dollar suites to work to project an image, not to be comfortable.

Clip-ons and high water pants don't do much to help our public image as professionals.

I think the clip on is a great idea when an intruder breaks into the cockpit... the old Cobra Clutch isn't as effective when the other guy has you by a noose around the neck. Also, I think the high waters help the effect when I moonwalk backwards with my bags to get out of the MacDonalds line in LAX with my grilled McChikin' and Diet Coke.

If FA's made the same as pilots, we might as well just all become FA's. Less responsibility for the same money. Of course then you have to put up with the bafoons in the back.

That's pretty funny:laugh:

None of the above will help us. What we REALLY need is..... more cow bell.:smash:

FAs already make more in some cases!

Where have you been, my girlfriend makes (when she flies) roughly $47 an hour, far more than any RJ FO, and before the paycut, she was making what a new RJ captain was making.

AA

The funny thing, as these eager beavers come in to fly a jet for $22 an hour or making $50 an hour as a captain she is getting out and doing something else, "how can people live off this", her words.

Makes a lot of sense actualy. In the end they will make more than pilots since their duty times are different and they fly more hours per month.

It will be cool though, this way the lead FA can buy ME dinner instead of the other way around.

What do you have to do to him for the dinner?

AA

Sorry, you left yourself wide open:eek:

Yeah, I suppose I did. I'll have to be more careful next time. That how nasty rumors get started.
