It is correct english...look it up...or go back to school

He was not my biological father, but a friend of the family. If it makes you feel better I will gladly claim him as my father. He proudly wears the title of a scab....someone who has courage to stand for what he believe to be right in the face of peer preasure from his co-workers. You would never see a union guy do that.....union guys will cave to the majority because they are afraid of the results or the label they might receive.

We had some guys at Comair who were on the property when the union was voted in. They exercised their right not to join (the grandfather clause). They could have crossed and it would have been a matter of principle. If you go to a company that yhas a union, you are defacto accepting the rules and saying you will join. You are then unprincipled if you cross. That makes you a scab. Having said that, I would also exercise my grandfather rights if a union was voted in at Flex. That is my principles. Hopefully, we will never face that choice! Status quo sounds good to me. Oh, and I have not met very many unhappy Netjetters. But I haven't met many unhappy Flexjetters either. Thank God both companies seem to get it in their own way! There are many Comair refugees at Netjets and I hope they are happy as clams! Cause I am!

Yah, you cross and you will find yourself in that little yellow book. A union guy isnt afraid of being labeled as you say....but he wont cross because he has dignity and doesnt want to let down his own or his brothers and sisters of that industry as well. Thats a badge of honor I would say......but a badge not worn by those who cross.

Kind of funny because his hatred of unions his new screen name should be Iam1.

My opinion isn't the only one that matters. You dad was a union teacher. If he didn't want to be a union teacher he should have found a job elsewhere. If his principles were so high and mighty he should have gone to a nice little private school.

He enjoyed working under the same contract as everyone else, with the same rules as everyone else. Except when it didn't fit his needs. Thats when he went off on his own. Although when the strike was done everybody returned back to work under the new contract. Your dad included. He reaped the benefits of being able to work the whole time (under the guise of helping the kids) and then enjoy whatever greater benefits the union provided in its new contract.

If he was so morally opposed he should have gone to seek a new job at a new school.

Do upgrades proceed according to seniority and bids?

How do you know when its your turn?

They are done by seniority. You have the right to by pass an upgrade if its not into the aircraft you want, but you will not get paid more even though their are CA junior to you. You will know its your turn when they call you and tell you of a class date, or you know you will be next when the guy senior to you goes to class. There is no bid.

Vacation are really the only seniority based bids here.
