I did not know that geese flew at 41000 feet? There were at level flight when it happened.

Actually they were passing through FL350 when the engine finally failed.

Sucking up a goose, partial goose or anything for that matter does not mean immediate failure of an engine. If you have ever dealt with an engine problem, sometimes they take time to develop.

I'm just making a point that if there is damage to the front of the nacelle, this usually is not associated with a internal engine problem.

But you make an excellent observation that Geese do not fly at FL410, proud of ya!

They already have it repaired. It was parked next to us in ADS yesterday. I assume waiting to be test flown.

No it was not but after talking to the crew I would have done the same thing they did. Shut the engine down then worry about the QRC/QRH.
