I read the other current Flexjet thread and it has already degenerated into a name-calling, personal yelling match (like most threads on FI). :puke:

So, a few questions about Flexjet and its recent orders:

1. How much of the recent orders accounts for incremental fleet growth vs. replacement of current aircraft?

2. Is the basic idea that the Lear 75 will replace the Lear 40/45 and the Lear 85 will replace the Lear 60/60XR?

3. What about the current large fleet of CL300s? How many will likely remain while the CL350 is introduced? Does flex operate a lot of "older" CL300s that need to be replaced or would the CL350 supplement the current CL300 fleet?

4. Lastly, for those hired recently (or returning furloughees), which fleets are being assigned? Even spread between the Lears and the Challengers?

I took a closer look at the specs on the Lear 85 recently - pretty impressive airplane!

Johnson,

I will try to answer your questions in your thread. Bear in mind, most of what I will tell you is either hearsay or guesstimates as it is a moving and fluid situation.

From what we hear, both.

2. Is the basic idea that the Lear 75 will replace the Lear 40/45 and the Lear 85 will replace the Lear 60/60XR? Yes, the 75 will replace the 40/45 as we are told today. The Lear 85 we figure is replacing the 60, but the 60's retirement schedule keeps shifting as well. Owner demand and the 85 being delayed is somewhat a cause of that.

3. What about the current large fleet of CL300s? How many will likely remain while the CL350 is introduced? I have heard we will operate both but again, subject to change as the dynamic changes. Does flex operate a lot of "older" CL300s that need to be replaced or would the CL350 supplement the current CL300 fleet? Most of our 300's are older. We are supposed to get our first 350 in April I believe. Whether we continue to operate the older 300's into the future or have a mix of both is anyone's guess.

4. Lastly, for those hired recently (or returning furloughees), which fleets are being assigned? Even spread between the Lears and the Challengers? They are all going into either the 300 or the 605. So far, no new/re-hires have gone into the Lears.

I took a closer look at the specs on the Lear 85 recently - pretty impressive airplane! Yes, it is. Now if they can just get it flying.

SHUT UP with your unimportant, stupid, irrelevant questions Richard Cranium!!!

;)

Figured I'd get that out of the way quickly for you....

Meanwhile, on a serious note, your questions serve to highlight the fact that Ken's whipsaw project is well under way.

Carry on.

True - I know the subject of longer haul equipment like Globals and Gulfstreams has been brought up by Ken. Perfect whipsaw material.

I take it, unless otherwise stated, the FLOPS fleet will focus on more "value oriented" aircraft like the Beechjet 400XT, the Phenom 300, the Citation X and the Legacy going forward. Not sure how some of those beyond the 400XT could be considered value aircraft... The 400XT could certainly be positioned that way. I suppose if I were a Legacy pilot at FLOPS right now I would be concerned about redundancy with Flexjet's CL300/350 fleet (would not classify the Legacy as value oriented) but what do I know... They seem to compete for the same demographics. Who knows how Ken will end up positioning the two main brands...

He will probably have another press release along with a 7 foot long BBJ model painted in Flexjet colors in the center of the Flexjet lobby shortly. So yes, by all means, keep focusing on the idea of shiny new jets, because KR has always delivered on all the promises he made in the past.
