I was wondering if anyone has heard any rumors about hiring at flex. I have talk to guys on the road and they seemed to thing that it could start in late summer early fall.

"Hiring into a pool" from a Flex guy that told me they want to pick from "a list"???

The pool is pilots we have hired but dint have a class date yet. Companies have been doing this for years.

The list we are looking at now is your furloughed pilots.

We actually have 5 or 6 pilots in the pool now and hiring should begin later this year. Based in the recent movement inside th company I would anticipate quite a bit of hiring in the next 12-18 months.

Management?

Spoken like a true manager.

And the guys in the pool...well...their arms are getting tired.

Not sure about the manager part, but I am sure that the swimmers are ready to get a class date.

FJ has stated that they plan to keep a pool for of selected candidates even as they begin class dates so that we are never in a shortage of pilots for a class date. People will interview, be placed in a pool and then drawn from the pool in order as class dates need pilots.

Not sure why this is such a stretch for you to understand or something you feel the need to bash FJ about. I am starting to believe no matter what happens at FJ you will find a way to tell us how bad/wrong it is.

Calm down TWA. I'm not bashing you or Flexjet.

However, while the concept of a hiring pool is not new, giving an anticipated class date and then changing it repeatedly is rather unbecoming of professional management.

I believe than Flexjet management is actually more professional than that. However, when working for KR the puppet master, I'm sure many senior and middle managers are somewhat embarrassed.

As far as I am aware the people in the pool have never been given a hard class date. And if they were not given a class date how could it have changed multiple times?

I think you will see ample hiring at FJ come this fall.

"As far as I am aware"... You certainly are an expert. Do they consult with you on these issues or are they just feeding you. Uncle wants to bring his pilots back.

I never claimed to be an expert at anything.

Class dates are set by management, so no I am not consulted.

Uncle is already bringing his pilots back, just not to the FO side of the house.

How many more pilots can FO have go to the Global before you might need to recall your first pilot? We might be through your entire furlough list before you have a chance to recall your first pilot.

I think it will be very interesting to see how many active FO pilots are willing to interview at FJ and resign at FO. I think that will be a sign as to the confidence in the IBT securing a better contract.

Funny that Cabbie has you calling KR "uncle" now.

Here's something else that's funny. Of the pilots that have gone to the GLOBAL, four are mangers and two are line pilots. And what's better! The managers became UNION MEMBERS to keep their seniority numbers at Flight Options! Hmmm. I wonder why? Maybe if the lists merged they can go with the higher number. Regardless, this has nothing to do with future contract negotiations. This simply has to do with "uncles" favorite boys at Flight Options.

So, how does it feel to have former Flight Options managers, and line pilots, on the bottom of the Flexjet seniority list making more money and flying Globals?

Maybe, just maybe, some pilots on the Flexjet seniority list aren't happy about that. How's that Employment Agreement working? Did it protect against this?

To The Architect

Just wondering, did you apply for the Global job? Just wondering if you didn't, why not. And if you did, why?

I know why I didn't. Too many unanswered questions. Besides, I've been all over the world in a previous life. I don't have a 12 hour butt anymore.

BTW, I think the Global guys are Jet Solutions pilots, not Flex Jet.

Since this is a Flex hiring thread, it fits well enough without being a hijack, I think.

Uncle Kenn is telling every pilot he meets that the XOJet deal is almost done, he plans to kick their pilots to the curb just like he wanted to do to the CA pilots, put the planes on the Flexjet certificate, and hire the furloughed FO pilots to fly them.

Whether there is any truth to this, or it is just KR daydreaming out loud I cannot address. Just reporting the news.

We've heard that too. That explains the sudden need for Lear captains to upgrade into the Challenger, and the proposed hiring later this year.

Did uncle mention the Xs?

The X's are newer then the FO X's so they will probably just replace them one for one with no net change in the number of aircraft on line or change in staffing.

Spreading that false information again.

The FO pilots on the Globals are NOT on the FJ seniority list.

It doesn't bother me at all that they got a job that I didn't apply for. Lots of people are hired at UPS and FedEx and that doesn't bother me either.

Why do the furloughed pilots at FO have to resign their seniority # to fly at Flex? It's not a union carrier, so no dual unionship.
