Anyone got any tips on getting a first timer that’s mildly afraid of GA planes to go up on one.

Do what my dad did to get my little brother flying about 10 years ago (he's 16 now).

Bro: "I don't wanna!"

Dad: "Don't worry, son, we'll just drive around on the ground, and if you don't like it, you hop out. Deal?"

Bro: "Okay, that doesn't sound so bad."

Vrrrrrrooom...you know the rest. But he actually ended up really enjoying it. Careful, though -- it can be a two-way street between extreme enjoyment and extreme resentment. Some people, take it or leave it, just aren't too into flying.
