Had a fed from the Dallas area in my jumpseat the other day and he said that they are workin with an airline that operates CRJ's on a plan to up the 19 seat limitation of A/C with no FA to 50 so that the CRJ 200 operators could lower their overhead by eliminating flight attendants.

Put that in your bong and puff on it!

Yea, and I had a fed on board last week that gave me the tri-state lottery numbers... They were both wrong!

Feds!! Gotta love em! They are so hopelessly affiliated with the ATA that they can't even see straight!
Crew rest? What's that? Flight attendants? ahhh, who needs em!

Yeah right....turn off the lights in the cabin, fill it with smoke...and watch how many people die because they never bothered to pay attention to where their nearest exit is.

Seems that every different airline manufacturer has a different way of opening and closing their cabin doors...people would be screwed in a real emergency without a F/A to pop the door for them.

And as far as windown exits go...just refer to the post about overweight passengers. Within the first 5 people to try and exit overwing, somebody's fat ass will get stuck and presto....a human exit plug.

Thank God I'm going out the cockpit hatch.

i was also talking to the faa about this last week. they said a lot of regionals are complaing about high operating costs. this is one way to cut back. how much do flight attendents make anyway? do you really need a flight attendent on a 50 seat jet. aren't there plenty of exits incase the people need to get out?

19 seaters didn't have cockpit doors. Imagine 50 pax with the cockpit door closed and no over sight. No seatbelts, phones on, tray tables out with video games on from door closing to opening. If there were a medical emergency which passenger would know how to use the intercom? Passengers are already complaining about lack of service, lets fix it with no service at all. Its not gonna happen.

TopGun - MAV,
Please, whether it's true or not, do yourself a favor and post that you were just kidding.

Anybody want this one? It's ripe for the picking.

You know the difference between a regional F/A and a 14-inch pizza?

A 14-inch pizza can feed a family of four.

(They don't make squat...not at ASA, anyway.)

By the way, TopGun-MAV, I just read your profile. Are you really a 334-hour Cessna 150 captain? Wow! I am impressed! (I think I just peed a little!)

If you were really training to be a 121 pilot, as you allege elsewhere, you would know the answer.

Also, most of us, myself included, have a four year degree from a credited University.
One might logically conclude that English was not a required subject there. :D

Sorry ... I just couldn't resist. :(
