Finding grass strips and fun places to fly has been a challenge, some have the knack for this, it takes some learning and I have a lot of learning to do. I started texting owners of private strips, few of those responded and most gave permission, some did not due to noise issues with neighbors and probably liability. I hope to find more destinations but the most important thing for me is realizing I have to go a little distance to get to some known locations as well. Two web sites are a good resource to start:

Please share how you find places to fly your backcountry airplane and get the most enjoyment out of it. Not all of us have the luxury of BLM land such as those out west but for those that do, I welcome any tips on knowing the rules and not getting into trouble landing someplace you shouldn't.
