Whats the best way to go about finding a charter flight? I have a business meeting and was thinking about trying to get a charter. Probably 5-8 people to Savannah. Any suggestions? I have never had the oppertunity to look for one before.

Go to the airport and find the sign that say charter. Follow it, go into their office. Then ask if you can charter their plane.

suck it smart ass.
Don't be mad .

Don't ask stupid question (and yes, there are stupid questions) expecting serious answer. We're not here to hold your hand in everything you do. If you need to charter a plane you should be smart enough to do it youself (the whole process), or pay someone to do it.

Do we also need to write up a manual so you can breathe?

I know I could go find one by myself. I was asking the best way, and for recommendations of good companies.

The only planes I could find available locally are two friends that own CL-600's which are just a tad bit much for what I need.

Thanks for the serious answers.

I checked out Charterx.com and wasn't too impressed (though I only tried one combination).

KCMI-KEYW (a trip I have recently done) in a "light executive jet." I was quoted 5 hours...it took us 2.7 hrs.

There are many good companies out there, I however don't know of any in your area...I also don't know of any bad ones in your area.
We are a good company, but we're not in your area. But that doesn't mean we can't deadhead to your location, fly the trip, and deadhead back home...for a price :)

Good luck in your search.

Where are you going to?
That price may not be out of line. Chartering ain't cheap.

EDIT: Nevermind, just re-read your first post about destination.

I'll bite and give a serious answer. Though I am suspect.

First of all, there is no airport in Texarkana, TX. It's in Arkansas.

Second, the 604 and 601 are not available for charter. They are private aircraft. B.H in the 604 and B.H in the 601 wouldn't risk their careers if they knew money was changing hands. T. is well aware of charter regs as he owned charter aircraft for almost 20 years. G's jet isn't for rent either.

Call the FBO and ask one of the girls to get you a quote. They have the names of a couple of operators. 800-233-5987

A TXK to SAV trip fee may run in the neighborhood of $7000 (guessing) for a King Air 200. Maybe around $7700 for a light jet. Add to that a $1200 - $1500 positioning fee. Then add crew and overnight charges. W.A. guess of $11000 then taxes, depending on how long you stay.

Best bet is to call the FBO and have them get you a quote. They have operators in LIT and DAL they they refer people to.

Good luck.

Thanks! Ill give that number a try tomorrow. A king air 200 is about what I was looking for. And I can live with the $10-$15k range, thats about what I was expecting. I think I might have found a good deal out of Paris that a friend uses.

whats B.H. T. and G.? are you speaking of T.A.'s and C.P.'s? I have ridden before as a guest, never paid, and I thought that I was told that one was avialable for charter, but aparantley I am mistaken. Ooops.

Cracking the code

(B.H.) is the initials of the guys that fly those. (T) is for T.A, (G) is T.A.'s son. There was a Citation on TAC's charter certificate up until about 2001. I can't recall if they ever put the Challenger on it or not. All charter went awy in 01 or 02.

Another # to call in that area is 800- 888-JETS. That's Central in Little Rock. There used to be a guy in Parix, TX with an MU2.

Just remembered, there is an outfit in SHV, Executive Travel Air? Can call TAC in SHV and ask ' em 318-636-1000
Good Luck.
