Well originally it looked like 2 727 SO's , now the final shows 8, so not really a big deal. This sure does not help the staffing by much, especially with a future bid and upgrade classes. So I would think that future new hire classes should still be happening. For those of us that can see the open time there is alot of it for this week in the back of the 27.

Looks like ANC got a few more folks, and a few to LA on the MD11. I know there are a lot of guys who really liked working the panel on the -10, but if you were lucky enough to get a MadDog you have to be excited. If any of you ANC winners really DON'T want to leave Mem, well...I'm sure that if we have another bid anytime soon some of us will gladly trade!

Congrats to all who got something they wanted, and here's hoping another training bid is around the corner. C'mon hiring!

I was real surprised to see two real junior guys going off to SFS. Great place to go hide out for a couple of years and make some money...not to mention all the great places you get to fly.

Well I got pushed down the LA list another 4 numbers...better go dust off those golf clubs. There is not 1 single trip to be had in Open Time this month:mad:

I'm not complaining...just happy to have a window seat...but sure would like to get some landing in once in a while:D

Compared to the last final award I moved down 3. I guess we lost 5 to training or something....

5 bucks

Okay, who owes me $5 for my prediction! A lot of guys were screwing @ on the practice bid - thanks a lot! I'm sure the bottom guys who got excessed appreciated it too.

I doubt guys were simply "screwing" with the bid. On practice bids I frequently change my standing bid choices to see where I might end up. On the last real bid I put in a choice to be a whistling sh!thouse Captain at 100% just to see if I could hold a secondary vacancy (I couldn't). I didn't really think I could have held it, but I wouldn't have known for sure if I didn't try. Practice bids are just that....practice. Final choices change when guys get an idea of what's barrelling down on them if they make a stupid move. The practice bid is sometimes the ONLY way of making an educated guess.

Unfortunately if you're on the bottom of the list you're very much like pawns in chess. This is just another part of the game...

No need to game the system on an excess bid. If you elect to move and are awarded a move you can go to anyplace there is someone junior to you. percentages don't much matter on this one....

Past....

It's a whole lot simpler than that, and it involves your seniority number. You compare your seniority number to those of pilots on the lists in which you are intersted, and notice where in the numerical sequence yours would fit. That's just as accurate as any other method - - monkeying with your standing bid preferences is NOT the only way.

Monkeying with a standing bid, and forgetting to change it back in time for the final bid, has caused more than a little heartburn. Be careful what you "ask" for!

:)

More Juniority

Geez....I have just moved down the 727 SO list some more. In 18 months the only guys I have seen added to the list are senior to me.

Please...another class...soon. RA is fun and all.....but......
