Hey all,
I was wondering if anybody out there had any input on what the going rate is for ferrying an aircraft to it's new owner.
The guy I fly for has informed me that he has found a potential buyer for his aircraft (bye bye multi time for me), and he wants me to ferry it down to Tenn. to the new owner. He mentioned something like a grand to fly it from OH. to TN., but I don't know if thats a good number or not. It sounds good, but I'm just checking to be sure.
Thanks,
TJ

First question, are you able to deliver the airplane and get back home in one day?

Second question, Who plays for your ride home?

If someone other than you pays your way home plus pay you a grand to deliver the airplane, I'd go for it.

A grand to fly it that distance is a very good deal. Take it and buy a bus ticket. A grand plus transportation isn't uncommon for someone ferrying a baron to England (usually better, but entry level ferry work pays that sometimes, for a crossing). A grand to fly a couple of states over is a heck of a deal. Take it, and don't worry about who is paying for your transportation home.

Be sure the owner is paying the fuel and landing fees, though.

Thanks

Thanks for the responses, I figured the 1000 to do the flight wasn't a bad deal but I was just making sure. I'm actualy going to be there for like 3 days to teach the new owner how to fly the A/C, but thats x-tra money on top of the ferry flight. All expenses are going to be paid by the current owner and the new owner and I'll be riding on the airlines to get back to CLE. It's too bad that my multi gig is going away, but at least the pay will be good for my last trip. Thanks again for the help,
TJ

Back in '93, I fly a 172 to Ashville, NC from Lubbock, TX. Stayed for a week, and tried to sign the new owner on a BFR. He paid me $300/day+hotel+meals+airline home. I think $1000+CFI'ing also sounds good.
