Did anyone else have 'Standing Bid Open' on their VIPS messages (on the front page next to 'My Calendar')? There was no related FCIF about a new standing bid. I thought that was odd. Just wondering.

Yep, I checked the -11 training letter and I got slid by about two weeks or so. WTF, over?

Ditto, two weeks back on the MD. Not a huge deal for me personally but a little info from the training dept. would be nice. Did they add more guys or are they using too many ET's with the current bunch?

ANC moves

Any of you guys moving to Anchorage have any gouge on how the move is going to work? Like who schedules it, any days off involved, etc? Not moving for awhile yet, but inquiring minds and all....

What's this got to do with the standing bid?

Nice try

The Standing bid is "always open". This is their way of getting you to update what you want to fly so they can run "practice bids" in the back ground without you seeing the results. They did the same thing before the MOAB when they were asking people to update their standing bid.

The vips notification is bait to get you to update your standing bid. Maybe they are trying to cost something being negotiated on. Maybe they are planning the clean-up bid.

They are just trying to predict the crew force. They probably figured this might get a better result than asking for help directly.

Heard yesterday 737-800's and 75's are a done deal. I don't know any real numbers but this came from people ramping up in the training dept.

Same Rumor

Folks,

Heard the same rumor the last two weeks. Apparently, tail #'s are already loaded in the mx database. Orignal source was the 727 Chief of Standards. Of course, I'll believe it when they are painted Purple. Nothing seems to happen fast here...except the freight.

I think Zman's comments are more than rumors. About two months ago, I know Standards was actively searching for a program manager for the 737. However, there was no mention of 757s.

Sorry to bunch your panties. I know you probably wasted an entire 15 seconds reading my post. Next time I will start a new thread. There's another 15 seconds you just wasted.

Damn I love the rumors on this board. Still I think the Standing bid open cue might have something to do with our class dates getting bumped back two weeks. The sooner we can join the modern world and not fly on heading all the way across the country the better!

Crap! Now I'll have to do walkarounds...:puke:

Well the good thing is that nothing happens fast around here, so I should be able to avoid it for a long while. The Whistling $hithouse will be around for years to come.

My thoughts exactly.

And of course I fall for it, sort of. I didn't change anything but I hate opening the home page and seeing that thing staring at me everyday.

73's AND 75's? Not likely. I guess since none of the legacies folded Fred couldn't find any really good deals. But with fuel prices as high as they are I can't see the Boeing sticking around too much longer. Between Jet A and the thrid crewmember the company can definately cut costs with 73's.

As always, just my uneducated 2 cents:laugh:

Standard Act

Any time they want something from the pilots, they start a rumor in training. Good examples are big bids, new contracts, new aircraft, USPS flying. . . I heard rumors about a new airplane seven years ago.

Next there will be a rumor about a new domicile in Bora Bora that's put on hold because the pilots won't agree to a contract.

Has anyone seen a -800F or heard of a place to convert one?
